Omg I thought I'm the only one!!!! You would feel for jiang more if you read the novel. As the secretary says in the novel: "Perhps He Zhishu was like water for him, he first drank it simply because he is thirsty, but later on tried several flavored drinks only to realize the water's importance when its gone" (This isn't the exact line but this is the gist of it) You can really tell he loved Zhishu more in the Novel but he was stupid to think that he would be forgiven and accepted after everything he did.
