my childhood was this manga, i named my online username “mitsuki” to remind my sorrowful love on this manga and for the longest time, it had became my forever online identity.

as a child, the moment i read this only to know eichi died was pretty devastating for me like the hope mitsuki had for her first love and her to meet again. I have always knew what was coming but i denied the fact that mitsuki will never meet him again and for me i don’t want that but then again, i just thought eichi would not want that and would probably wish for mitsuki’s happiness (which was true apparently) and she will find someone for her even if its not him. the fact that i use the name “mitsuki” was to remind myself that at the right time, you will meet someone for you even if it wasn’t the person you excepted to be with you in a lifetime, that they also come in different forms, be it a child, a dog, a tree or etc that will make you feel the happiness you deserve.
so now as an adult, i had processed my child mindset from this manga and was able to let go of people who aren’t willing to stay because i will wait for the right person for me, no force or anything, i just know the be it someone or something, it will come to me.
sorry for the sentiment, i just felt nostalgia coming across this manga again after a long time
