my guess is that this is the ol "he loved her the whooooooole time he just has no idea how to show it" story again. And its not that he was cruel its that he has never once talked to a woman in his life or seen how a single relationship functions so he just dosnt understand how to properly care for her and never once realized why she was so miserable and depressed. If only she had told him what they were doing and how she was feeling we could have avoided all of this! I keep seeing stories like this lately. Is this just like a common fantasy to have a real shit husband?
You’re spot on!! That’s literally the whole plot. When I looked at some novel spoilers they say this novel is all about communication and resolving misunderstandings. Its funny how you got the whole thing right,,

lol its just the same basic plot to Duchess of the Glass House and The Tyrant Husband Has Changed they both have miserable FLs trapped in loveless marriages who die young and neglected and when they are reborn find that their cold husbands were just awkward and didnt know how depressed they really were.
yeah I had to drop Duchess of the Glass House. Learning the Dukes backstory frankly just made me hate what he did more. Tyrant isnt so bad and at least the ML actually did what he could to save her and treat her right in the second life but i got bored of that one too at some point. Im guessing ill get bored of this one too but i'll read it for a bit.
I can understand why Ludis is so divisive. We as readers know that Lavane isn't going to be a threat to her and that she can be braver now. Strong fierce heroines are almost always fan favorites because we love seeing strong queens who don't take shit from anyone. but I kinda like how she is written I think it suits this story better. Like she has gone through so much trauma and the only people around her are really just strangers she hardly knows. and one of those strangers is basically a walking nuke that she just got the codes for. What would you do if you are just walking down the street one day minding your own business and suddenly someone pushes you down a flight of stairs and chains a man with a machine gun to your neck? its a really scary feeling you just faced death and now have an unbeatable weapon thrust on you. Sure no one in their right mind would mess with you with that hanging around all the time but its also incredibly uncomfortable to suddenly have this massive threat looming around you no matter where you go and whether you like it or not. you also have no idea what hes thinking and there is nothing you can do if he suddenly decides to aim that gun at you or anyone else around you. She didn't ask for this and she didn't want this. She is just forced to make the best of it and try to do the responsible thing with this new power. Ludis isn't and never was a heroine she is a victim who is trying to survive. Hopefully she gets braver and more confident and eventually becomes a heroine but right now i think its ridiculous to expect her to be brave and confident with this situation.
So true! Her character is so well written. I'm excited to read more of this story now. Often times, a good character development gives the most satisfying plot points. Thank God there's someone who shares my sentiments. Like sometimes, readers just want a mary sue fl, then bashes characters like this, which to be honest, is really annoying bec. It stops other readers from reading a masterpiece.
yeah I totally understand that there has been a lot of annoying overly traumatized fls lately. And it can be tiring reading about FLs that shiver all the time and just sit there waiting to be saved. but I really don't think Ludis is like that at all. All of her actions are pretty well justified and she is being pretty proactive in helping herself and making choices. like she is obviously terrified but she isn't a weak willed pushover. She got out of the castle on her own and made the choice to go the war zone on her own too. Also she frankly has no reason to trust Lavane. He SAYS he will help her and he has been kind to her but she would be incredibly naive to assume some ancient dark god of destruction wants to be her best pal for no reason. it sounds super sketchy no matter how nice he is to her. The most dangerous people can also be the most charming and she isnt wrong for being suspicious of him. She's also known him for like less then a week why on earth would she suddenly feel safe and secure with him? I think she has a pretty healthy amount of fear of him.
you know what...mad respect to him. it might of taken him a while to open up but he actually realized he needed to sit down and communicate with her on his own like an adult. Hes made a lot of mistakes but I can at least appreciate he decided to tell her to her face instead of her having to piece things together from rumors and strangers.
