TBH I feel like she is pretty insensitive here. I get that she loves his character and wants to save him but like he is very clearly not over his crush and she is perfectly positioning herself to be spiked into being a rebound fling at best and a nuisance at worst. Meanwhile he is so wrapped up in a relationship that never even happened that he is totally refusing to let himself be happy and move on with someone who whole heartedly adores him and is just logistically a great option for him. I sense this is going to be an absolutely massive headache.
Yes, she haven't considered his own feelings, but she did say what she wanted is to make him happy. That's her main goal. Besides, it's not like she's actually forcing him either way. She gave him a choice. It wouldn't be a loss to either of them if they don't get together (which is unlikely), but it'd be a missed opportunity.
I thought it was going to be another basic villainess isekai but I actually like that there is so much backstory into why perfume is important to her and how she was actually a chemical engineer so it makes sense she could learn the talent. I also appreciate that this is a business focused series and she is working hard to be self sufficient without clinging onto a man.
This actually has a pretty interesting setup. Its not a standard isekai at all. Elizabeth seams to have either visions or delusions about the future that are guiding her and the way she was given the information was told to her by a mysterious person in her dreams who read it from a book. The FL is not the person from the book but a regular child who is trying to understand what these visions mean and how to use them. She seams convinced she NEEDS to be the heroine but is hesitant about following the exact script she was given. So far there is 0 romance and I doubt any will start until much later. I'm hopeful that once they get to their destination she will be handed to someone else to take care of and then she can meet the love interests after a time skip.
I read a lot of webtoons and have seen a lot of meek FLs. I really don't think Ludis is that frustrating at all. Like all of her timidness 100% makes sense for her character. she literally had 0 power both politically and physically to the point she couldn't even protest being kicked into a hole and sacrificed. Even now her power is entirely reliant upon a sketchy and fickle old god of destruction. Despite this she managed to successfully negotiate her way out of the castle and to the worst hit zone and personally went in to assist with the demon raid. She's getting work done by herself in her own limited way. Would it be great if she ordered the god to kill her dad and sister for her? yes but also she is a kind and timid person. Killing an emperor would shake the country and even if he is an ass he is her dad and its hard to order the killing of anyone let alone your own shitty dad and bitchy sister. She has also only seen his power used twice and it was terrifying how overwhelming it was. Considering she dosn't know why he favors her I think she is in her right to be cautious with him.
Honestly what I think makes timid fls truly annoying are the ones who just sit around and cry. Or ones who make their situations worse for themselves and everyone with stupid choices. Or the ones who are painfully naive and ovely forgiving. I really don't think Ludis fits any of these categories. I reskimmed through the chapters and the first thing she does when she wakes up is send away all the new people trying to butter her up and stands up for herself against her dad and sister. She then vows not to forgive them and leaves the palace as soon as possible which is hours after waking up and getting beaten. She then talks back to the emperor and even blackmails him into forcing him to accept her conditions. She also immediately prioritizes helping the people and ridding the land of monsters over her personal vendettas. Considering its been about a week since all this started she is doing very well for herself. She also has not cried once after all that. So while she isnt the strongest or bravest I really don't think its that fair to be so harsh on her.
its pretty fast paced and the translation is unfortunately pretty bad but I will give it the kudos it deserves for not being an isekai or reincarnation. It looks like it will be a play on the doting father trope where he will take care of her now but it is has some nuance and isn't entirely wish fulfillment. I like that she had loving parents and a happy childhood before she became an orphan and she seems pretty smart and resourceful so far. I don't like it when the fl is just a sad adorable punching bag who has never known joy until her new daddy adopts her. putting money down now that the black haired boy is a prince and will be the love interest. Hopefully the translations get better but for now it looks promising.
