I hope she asks why they did 'that' first. Even if it wasn't her first thought, didn't she think that maybe they had a 'good' or 'reasonable' reason behind their actions? Even if she knew that their attitudes were 'villain-like' in the original book, it's still kinda sad how she immediately assumed that they tricked her and that they're actually 'bad' or 'mean'...

Well, she ISN'T entirely wrong and it's definitely a natural response seeing that scene before your very eyes...but still, it kind of felt like her faith in them weren't that strong to have slapped away her beloved child's hand the moment she saw him doing something violent and cruel....
