At this point the author is gonna have to kill off one or both of the male leads just so I don’t have to see whoever gets rejected heartbroken. I can’t explain why I feel this way, I just do.
I think the author didn’t anticipate that she would write Jae-I better than the actual male lead whose name I forgot lol and that readers would like Jae-i more. I genuinely can’t tell who’s the endgame
It would be a 10/10 perfection if we can see their wedding and more soft home life in some side stories Σ(っ°Д °;)っ
The anti-war message seems to be growing stronger within this manga which is great. I get a bit frustrated when people say there is no plot in the manga because the message is subtle but it’s there and it’s wonderful :)

In the novel yes. But the story is already different from the novel. Hopefully we will have a beefy uke in the end as well

So in the novel they don't meet Strauss' army on the battlefield. After they defeat the rebels they go back to the capital, Ray is made a Duke or something and he spends his time practicing magic.
Then after 2 years of happy living, Rey begins to want to leave a legacy, get married and have an heir (remember, he was straight in his first life and only occasionally have a twink or two). This obviously creates a fight between the ml and mc and Ray runs away at an academy in a neutral state. It's there where he meets Eddie. And long story short, Eddie convinces him to return to Strauss to be emperor. And the mc and ml continue to see each other, but like every 6 months or so. And this is when Ray gets his buff body back.
I greatly doubt any of the above will be adapted in the comic though
