From what I can understand since Jaeshin doesn't see much worth in human life he can't really sympathize to someone's death but he also got news from his brothers that the prince doesn't have much time to live so he also either wants to prince to die peacefully or make him have the will to live. He is feeling really conflicted with himself because he can't understand what exactly he wants from the prince.
