It’s rl easy to forget, I think that the mc just couldn’t handle the trauma from the ‘betrayal’ that was just a misunderstanding.It’s rl common in real life to forget important parts in your life, it’s a defense mechanism that our brain does. When it realizes that the trauma is to severe for the brain it just forgets it. That y a lot of ppl don’t remember their childhood, it’s bc they went through some bad shit in their childhood that forced them to forget years of their life
