The story is that her father and mother, the maid turned marchioness, fell in love. The mother wanted to be the legal wife, but she couldn't and would only be able to hold the title as second wife or concubine because of nobility etiquette. In order to obtain that title, she spread rumors, essentially ruining the Solen title and forcing the father to marry her. The maid became the marchioness and js still alive. She never cared for Neveah and seems she was just power hungry from the start.
The father fell out of love with the maid turned Marchioness and blamed Neveah's birth for everything because she was there conveniently for him to let out all his anger on. The father found a mistress, baby Rubiel was born, and that's their current situation. The maid turned Marchioness is alive. Rubiel's mother is a mistress, whom we don't know yet.
Mom is alive, she is still marchioness. She just doesnt give a shit about her daughter bc she only used her pregnancy to get the position. And in that one chapter Rubiel mentions that the Marchioness purposefully leaving her to wait and starve but Rubiel doesnt know that's bulliying. So we can assume the Marchioness dislikes Rubiel as she is the heir instead of Nivea

i know a lot of you wish there’d be more romance but i kinda hate the amount of romance that it already has. keep in mind i’m currently on chapter 85 tho. like isn’t it weird how a 12 year old (Hal) is almost in love with the FL? like that one part where he gets close to her face and then blushes/freaks out? SHES BASICALLY A TODDLER. i kinda wish that they’d just age her up or something bc the main plot, finding out who killed her family, is getting really confusing. they keep throwing in random challenges like that one woman who apparently killed her husband. i just want to get to the point already haha
Just think of it as brotherly love and it will be wholesome, remember she had known Hal for a long ass time, so it wouldn't be bad or it is expected for Hal to act so comfortable with her

i’m glad people are still uploading and translating this story but i’m pretty sure translations on youtube are on like chapter 180+ so why are these translations so bad? they’re uploading much slower so i was thinking quality > quantity but the quality is not that great. my head hurts reading this story, i’ll keep reading it anyways, but i just want to know the reason as to why the translation quality got significantly worse

i love how it’s focusing on the actual main character of the story but satisfying us with bits and pieces of romance. it’s nice to see how it’s different from other stories where the kids say something and everyone just gives them a chance. instead, the author has the FL literally manipulate the people into action by making them think it was their own idea but also having them remember who brought the idea up. it’s incredibly realistic and satisfying. i’m excited to see how the story will progress even further
