Well he evidently is having a crush on her, while also he isn't rly caring about his previous love interest.
It's like author forgot he was a gay few chapters ago, and now he is trying to make drama with the whole love triangle between friends.
Plus another dude who is basically a stalker at this point, with this one alone author should have enough drama on his hands, I have no idea why blondie is switching sides, story would be way better if he wasn't crushing on fl, and stayed true to his character since the beginning, if author showed us from the begging that he is interested with both men, and females, then ok I could understand it, but with this scenario he is simply falling in love with her only because she is MC of this story, and author wants to create, more, and more drama.
This story already have quite a serious tone to it, and drama is basically integral part of it, so there is no need to artificially add more and more, to check one trope after another.

I don’t think it’s changing his sexuality, it’s him being confused about his sexuality. In high school you’re not always cut and dry and we don’t know if Chan liked any boys besides pyo. Bisexuality is a thing, pansexuality is a thing and it’s not like they explicitly said he’s gay. Chan said he likes guys. This could easily be a situation where he’s so used to girls approaching him he never really had the feeling of attraction for a girl due to that. Demisexuals also exist. For many people they go from saying they straight, to bisexual, to being gay or lesbian. I thought I was demisexual until I realized that I was just asexual. There’s a clear progression of his feelings, unlike other authors who just completely ignore that the character was originally established they are gay simply for the plot. But you can tell that the author always wrote the story in someway to be complex on feelings. We have a character who’s not aware of his feelings; pyo. Another who’s completely content without any feelings; Sami. And someone whose confused about their feelings due to the two people the care for and like; Chan.

Not like you can’t be bi right lolll you gotta be straight or gay or lesbian.. plus these are youngsters so probably don’t even know who they are still and are confused/figuring out who they really are. He said he was gay cus he probably only ever crushed on ML but now he crushed for the first time on a girl or atleast he’s not sure still and is trying to figure it out. Aka a man can be bi and it’s totally okay if he was “gay” at first cus that’s what they thought and now he likes a girl cus BI men exist.

But it's still writen in a way to create more tension and drama between all three of them, and it's not convincing at all.
Especially since now he is jealous of Sami not Pyo, it's weird beyond belief.
I could understand if Pyo wasn't in this story, and blondie was slowly exploring his relationship with Sami, understanding he is in love with her, but we have a scenario in which his love interest was his best friend, and now he is starting to catch feelings for a girl Pyo starts to show interest in.
He was established as gay character, and since Pyo and Sami started to get closer he is jealous of Pyo, and tries to compete with him? Nah, no one will change my mind that his change is anything other than a tool for this author to put more angst, and tension in this story.
I bet author knew that there is a ton of stories that have best friends competing for the same girl's love, and wanted to add twist to it, but in this case it feels super unnatural and weird.

I do agree that the romantic direction here is kinda disjointed and we're not sure what author is going for yet but we will see. Just because a character is introudced one way doesn't mean they stay like that forever though. Plenty of people think theyre just gay first before they realise theyre bisexual/pansexual. It's actually quite a refreshing idea because you rarely see it in these sort of straight romances, but we will see if author ends up doing anything good with it. I kind of doubt they will though, thats why I agree with the romance being weirdly written...I also agree that theyre not using it well even though it could've been a very interesting concept

Doubt they will compete tho, as this story is more on dealing with family trauma, healing, and friendship. Tbf gender is not set in stone. You can also drop the story if it doesn't suit your taste.

I think they meant the gender he likes.... You don't have to start being homophobic out of nowhere just because someone says the word gender. Yes, "alphabet ideology" is homophobic. People were trying to have a neutral discussion with you but it's obvious now you were writing this in bad faith from the start. If you have issues with queer characters in your straight stories then just drop the manga. So disappointing

I DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM WITH HIM BEING GAY, BUT WITH AUTHOR WHO IS USING HIS SEXUALITY AS A TOOL TO CREATE DRAMA IN A STORY WHICH IS COMPLEX, SAD AND DEPRESSING ALREADY, ONLY TO PUT MORE TENSION ON 3 MAIN CHARACTERS.

Ehhh calm down. No one is freaking out except you lol. I already said I agree author is using it poorly. I wonder if your "gay friends" know you disagree with their "alphabet ideology." Either you're not actually their friend or they dont exist lol. Someone should probably tell them. Everyone in these comments will be just fine, your opinion is just that, an opinion. If someone calling you out for using homophobic phrases/rhetoric triggers you this much instead of leading to introspection then yeeeeah. Ok let me educate you since u probably still have mother's milk under your nose, but older ppl like myself, and my friends who you believe don't exist, are more grounded in reality, and don't think gender is fluid, and everyone can become who they want with snap of their fingers, this whole "ideology" wasn't even present when we were growing up, because we grow up in times without internet, and while internet is amazing thing, some mentally ill ppl are using it to reach out to other ppl who are missing logical thinking ability, and poof, we have alphabet gang and their followers.

What you’re clearly not understanding is this is a time where they are children who don’t understand themselves properly. Chan is obviously confused and he can still feel jealous because he don’t know who he’s jealous of or why he’s feeling this way. We don’t know much of his back story rn so it could be that pyo is the only person he truly liked which why he says he likes men. Or it could be that even tho he dated girls before he only thought of his best friend pyo. Sexuality isn’t one thing, especially when there’s different forms of sexual preference, orientation and attraction.. for many people they can be sexually attracted to
Women but romantically attracted to men, and identify as neither. We don’t know Chan really sexual identity, just because he says he likes guys doesn’t mean that can’t change especially when many people think there’s only straight, gay, and lesbian. Also there’s this thing call internalized homophobia. There’s plenty of gay people who hate trans, nonbinary etc especially the older generation simply because they didn’t have all this back in their day. Doesn’t mean their ideologies and thought processes are correct. All they doing is portraying the same ideology many homophobic people have while ignoring their own biases. The saying usually going as “I’m gay so…” type or comments. There’s racists who has Asian friends and relatives but that doesn’t change their racist views and beliefs. You can say what you want but if you actually properly understood what’s happening in this story you’ll know that it’s not just black and white. Being hung up about a boy being confused about why when he suddenly find attraction to someone other than his preferred gender could easily be him discovering that he’s demisexual or Demi romantic : someone who can only have sexual or romantic feelings towards someone they build a connection with. There’s many labels and identities people can go by to understand themselves. Chan emotions and feelings wasn’t a sudden thing, the comic showed plenty of times the sudden attraction, the care, and obvious love he has for both pyo and Sami. You can still imagine that Chan has feelings for pyo which is most likely why he’s confused about his feelings on Sami. Adult to adult not only was your reaction overbearing especially when you’re insulting people you believe as children. You’re not properly reading or understanding the characters you’re trying to put in one box. Do I think the author is thinking that deeply? I’m not sure. But I can tell what you’re saying isn’t correct either since in the story the process was actually fairly slow and reasonable.
