Yeah I disagree.
Honestly it always depends on the type of abuse and how extreme you want to be with it.
I think JK has passed the point of believable redemption that I'm willing to root for.
A little bit of flawed toxicity at the start is fine and if the story is written well, I take no issue but drawing an abusive toxic top for preference doesn't sit right with me.
A lot of people will disagree but either make a shorter season 1 in favor of changing the Top starting with the next season or do it in season 1 and make the plot evolve around it being too late and JK desperately looking to redeem himself. (Then Dan leaves initiating season 2).
Redemption starts with oneself, it's not only Dan, but he's a jerk to everyone and has his own issues with pressure and stress & handling it badly.
It's such a shame bc the creator's note once again shows how absolutely talented Mingwa truly is, the sketches of Dan in maid look and hamster were to die for! It's gorgeous but wasted on a toxic plot.
Guess that's the type of stories she's into and I don't want to kink shame anyone but I think it can be done less excessive and still achieve the same result.
Tried reading this again but felt reminded why I dropped this at chapter 7...
It's so awkward and unrealistic, no built up, just fake confidence and manipulation. I really dislike plots that revolve around fake scenarios and lies (started with Fake Romance and why it's SO much better than compared to the start!).
The art is gorgeous but the plot is weird af.

Okay I just reread season 3 and noticed the heavy parallels between this and A cruel god reigns (my favorite manga), they're similar up to the end even! Leaving it vague and like a promise.
This might be one of the biggest reasons why I love it so much, the complexity of the story and the characters themselves are so wonderful.
Also the story isn't similar at all, just the self doubt and self destructing nature shown by YO in season 3 and the desperation of Kwon. They reminded me of Jeremy and Ian.
Although their story wasn't a typical happy end.

In all honesty most people miss the point, I can't hear all the whining about the "cringe" artstyle anymore.
Sure it's somewhat of a downgrade, some panels do look good, others are weird but y'all the thing to actually complain about is the narration, pacing and mood that has changed.
It feels all over the place and not as engaging.
It's easier to complain about art since that's easy to pick apart than actually thinking about the story that has suffered.
I say it again but story > art
If a story is good and engaging, the art barely matters even if it's nice to look at good art.
Take "Tower of God"...the art in the early chapters..oh boy but the story? Amazing! So I read it.
This needs to get better in terms of story.
This is proof that we need more teasing & flirting in BL, sure going all the way is nice to see but it's kinda overused to the point where every intimate action leads to sex or is used as a plot point to make the story more dramatic.

I don't know what to feel, I love the art style and the Mc is such an adorable cinnamon roll but he obviously has some mental issues.
He's so afraid of being abandoned, he just wants to be loved even if it means disregarding himself. This is really sad to see since he's such a kind person.
Also the bruises on his knees he got from their "session" and how both didn't care or say anything about it.

Since the MC was abandoned when he was young it put a dent into his emotional maturity so he feels more like a naive child than anything else. He's frank, curious and talks endlessly without a filter like a child.
He had to grow up way too fast so he immediately got attached to Taeseo after he heard he was functioning as his "guardian" which is usually the role of a parent.
He had to be his own guardian so he desperately clings to the one guy he can depend on.
Notice how he started developing "feelings" as soon as he heard the word "guardian" in the hospital?
Idk that made me feel really iffy.
The Top is obviously just in it for the fun and it feels so cruel towards such earnest affection even if it's rather subordination. He practically repeats what the MC says like you would to entertain a child that can't stop telling you about the most trivial things like they're the biggest achievements.
He uses the Mc's affection to spin his own version of reality. To "miss someone" is letting them use your body which is a sickening mindset.
I'm afraid what's to come will break the Mc, the author makes it clear especially in chapter 13 that this is NOT a healthy dynamic but abuse.

I thought this was dropped but I guess it was picked up again, I'm honestly so happy! The art style changed a lot but I don't mind as long as we get to enjoy the story. I was admittedly also not a huge fan of the old art style especially in recent chapters so this works for me lol
Anyways this will most likely be uploaded here soon as well, it took a long while but we're back!
