Yep I'll just choose to ignore the problematic start and imagine this starting after the summer break/at Volume 2 and I really like this (excluding the start).
The art is drop dead gorgeous and their dynamic is interesting and adorable.
I feel like the author really wants to make this work now and have a good and compelling story.
So honestly I'd recommend starting with Volume 2 and you're pretty good on seeing a couple develop in a good direction.
