Season one left off with chapter 43 of the novel
Chapter 44 starts with zhenya in his office and a male employee nervously walking in to drop off mail (obviously afraid of zhenya), zhenya notices and teases him telling him to dance to prove he’s not nervous, which the employee follows. He then asks the employee to get naked and dance on the table and after watching the mployee do so and realizing he’s not attracted to his body at all, he lets him go.

He goes back to read one blank envelope that sticks out to him that says “tik tok tik tok boom”.
Suddenly, there were explosions in the mansion.
The bomb squad and fire trucks arrive.
Taekjoo knocks out a firefighter and takes his uniform, sneaking past and managing to get into the drivers seat of a fire truck. An officer notices and questions Taekjoo, to which he couldn’t respond. He grabs the attention of other officers and when he realizes there’s no other options, he drives away towards the embassy in which the officers will have no jurisdiction.
With a bunch of cars and helicopters chasing him, he runs into the front door of the embassy. After getting up from the crash, with no officers able to get inside, he heads towards the ambassador’s office. He notices someone is sitting at the big desk, chair not facing him. Then he hears muffled banging in a closet nearby and after zhenya turns around sitting in the ambassadors chair.

Zhenya teases him and taekjoo threatens to send a picture of the anastasia blueprints if he steps near him. When that doesn’t work, he threatens him with a gun but misses every shot because of his injuries. Zhenya grapes him and Taekjoo wakes up somewhere he doesn’t recognize. He is teased by zhenya and he grapes him again, taekjoo passes out again but wakes up to zhenya still graping him while giving him a tattoo on his back/lower waist

I’m lazy now but basically, zhenya took taekjoo to his private island in which he tries to escape but since it’s in the middle of nowhere/harsh oceans, it’s hard to escape by manpower alone. Taekjoo tries to make bets with zhenya a few times like “who can catch more fish” or “who can hunt better” in order to leave the island with the helicopter but loses, and has s3x with zhenya in exchange every time he loses.

Oh and zhenya’s family keeps asking him to kill taekjoo because they know of his existence/it ruins their reputation especially since zhenya doesn’t have the best behavior

One day, when zhenya leaves the island, his sister (Olga) stops by to see him but finds taekjoo instead
Taekjoo doesn’t like the idea of having s3x with zhenya while she’s there so he keeps pushing zhenya away which angers tf out of zhenya ‘cause at this point, he starts to grow feelings for taekjoo and it slowly shows, like how he brings Korean food/snacks every time he comes back from leaving the island or kisses taekjoo on the cheek/neck
anyways, zhenya gets mad about taekjoo refusing him and they kind of physically fight when taekjoo distracts him and runs away. Olga is in the hallway wondering what the commotion was was taekjoo runs past her. She tries to block zhenya but he passes her when she reveals that she also went to visit him in order to warn him about their family
Zhenya basically almost kills taekjoo, leaving the island wuickly, assuming he did kill taekjoo
he throws himself into work, the scene is described as two people having sex and the woman trying to kill the man but zhenya kills the woman before she has the chance
there’s an explosion that zhenya had no idea about and realizes that it was a trap in order to keep him away from his island so they can find taekjoo and kill him/take him away
taekjoo wakes up to olga taking care of him. They go eat when when Olga can’t breathe, revealing she has angina or something. suddenly, they hear the sound of military Helicopters and taekJo assumes they are there for Anastasia or for him
He makes a plan and tells Olga to hide in the forest of the island (it’s snowy) while he knocks out/kills the agents while in the mansion
He grabs skis and evades most gunshots but because he’s already injured from zhenya, he gets shot
Zhenya rushes to the island in a helicopter, seeing all the other helicopters already there and shoots them, even crashing his helicopter into theirs on purpose in order to kill them (and successfully does)
He sees blood in the snow and follows it, finding taekjoo barely breathing in a cave (but not really)
He picks up taekjoo and for a moment, taekjoo faintly reaches out his hand and touches zhenyas collar. Zhenya kind of rethinks everything and takes him back to the mansion where taekjoo wakes up to Olga taking care of him again
Just as Olga is about to wipe him down since taekjoo Is excessively sweating, zhenya stops her and does it himself carefully and patiently,
It’s silent until zhenya speaks up saying
“ Why do you keep trying to run away? It’s not like I’m trying to kill you.”
And taekjoo answers after a bit saying
“Because there’s no reason to stay”
And zhenya stops and stares at him for a moment, kind of hurt, then stands up and says “I’ll make one then”, walking away after
Taekjoo rests and gets up, walking to the kitchen and sees zhenya is sitting outside. He grabs some alcohol and walks over to zhenya. They drink and talk and taekjoo, not thinking, reaches out and touches a wound on zhenyas forehead. As he was about to pull away his hand, zhenya grabs it, causing taekjoo to fall on his back on the floor. He notices the sky and doesn’t notice zhenya is on top of him until he tries to kiss him. Taekjoo draws the line and gets up, thinking about how he has to leave the island asap “before things got any stranger”

Zhenya forces Olga to leave and taekjoo helps her pack, he finds her medicine for her condition and realizes he can use it as an explosive. He helps Olga into the rooftop where the helicopter pad is and takes her as a hostage basically. Zhenya tries to get taekjoo to stop what he’s doing but taekjoo throws the “bomb” anyways and gets onto the helicopter with Olga, leaving behind zhenya in the explosion. He doesn’t hear but zhenya calls out “taekjoo”
Olga drops taekjoo off at the airport with a fake passport and money. As they part ways, Olga mumbles how koschei’s ((idfk the name of that tale) metaphor for zhenya tho)) greatest weakness was love.

This part gets too smart for me so basically, taekjoo secretly reunites with his agent friend again and gets him to help find who framed taekjoo for that kim younghee case or something. Also he finds out his mother is in the hospital after finding out taekjoo was a “criminal”. He goes and finds clues

I may have misinterpreted it wrong but turns out taekjoo was framed to look like he was working with the Russians and that his “mission” was never reported.
So to everyone, he does look like he betrayed his country. Determined to clear his name, he meets up with “Dr. Cho”, asking him for help (he helps him with like gadgets snd disguises I think). He spends the night at his place and has a nightmare about zhenya finding him.
He goes around and looks and finds that Kim Younghee was dating someone, more specifically, about to be/already engaged. He soon finds out it was Director Lim who was seeing her, and confronts him in a parking garage. While threatening him, security overhears the gunshots and taekjoo makes a run for it.
He goes and visits his mom in the hospital, disguising himself as a doctor since there were officers everywhere searching for him. He goes to her room only to see the entire floor staff was knocked out, but moving past them anyways only to see that zhenya was in the hospital room. He ignores him and proceeds to act like he’s doing a check up on his unconscious mother but zhenya recognizes him and tries to grape him in the bathroom connected. Suddenly, officers burst into the hospital room and zhenya gives taekjoo a chance to stay with him or turn him into the police. Taekjoo chooses zhenya and they manage to escape the police on a motorcycle chase, but zhenya gets grazed by a bullet.
They end up at an unnamed motel and taekjoo tried to tend to zhenya’s wound, but zhenya kisses him abruptly and they have s3x. However, due to the blood loss from his injury, zhenya passes out. Taekjoo takes this as a chance to run away, but as he’s leaving, zhenya gets calls his name out unconsciously. Taekjoo decides to stay and takes care of his wound. Zhenya wakes up and realizes what happens then taekjoo threatens (used lightly) zhenya to deliver the evidence to the prosecutor, who’s n charge of the Kim younghee case, in exchange that taekjoo will stay with him/wont run away from him anymore
Taekjoo then uses himself as bait for the police to chase him as zhenya delivers the evidence (I think,,, At this point I don’t remember much) then zhenya rescues him by helicopter and they have a moment on a rooftop and that’s where the first novel ends

The rest is mainly side stories about how zhenya moves to Korea for taekjoo but taekjoo is busy at his job as usual despite telling his mother that he would quit. Zhenya also visits his mother regularly, despite the language barrier, and his mother knows him as the Russian ambassador for Korea aka taekjoo’s “boss”
Anyways zhenya and taekjoo aren’t technically dating but they kiss and have s3x and fs have feelings for each other; but since taekjoo is always working snd this upsets zhenya to the point sometimes he bothers him during his missions
There’s some extra pieces like how yoon jong woo meets Olga and lowkey has feelings for her; taekjoo goes to a high school reunion because of this one girl he used to be friends with (she had feelings for him but he didn’t plus they were like the top of their class and both lost one of their parents) but doesn’t tell zhenya because he knows he’ll be jealous. So he invites jongwoo to bbq with him buf when he arrives, he sees taekjoo with zhenya and is told to watch zhenya while he leaves to his reunion party. Taekjoo goes and gets drunk to the point he’s unconscious and zhenya finds out after calling him like a bunch of times. So he tracks Taekjoo and picks him up at the reunion which kind of makes a scene since zhenya is so tall and handsome.

I stopped reading but a new book/collection recently came out and someone posted the spoilers for it, so check that out since the story does get more interesting but lowkey sad

I mean if my sibling spent a lot of time focusing on someone, writing articles about them (Its canon that Jinhyun read soohyun's articles I think) and helping them expose a creep, i would also believe they are dating them.
