This manwha did SUCH a good job in showing how dysfunctional domestic abuse and toxic narcissism can be within a family and in relationships. Choi Yul’s family has been so dysfunctional for so many years that to them, dysfunction is normal. Ya gotta wonder what could’ve happened to THEM in their past that would convince them that any of this was healthy. And Kyung-Soo has been manipulated to the point that he’s now thoroughly convinced that his life has no meaning and he won’t be happy unless he’s with Yul. These dynamics have actually happened to people - partners can become trapped in relationships by their abusers. This felt heartbreakingly real. Bravo to the author.
