I LOVE THIS. It's so well-written and very well executed . I understand why Akira chose to let Yuuki go. The impending feeling that you have to follow society's expectations is incredibly heavy and not wanting you and your partner to be hurt by it is another thing to add to the list. "Holding on" most of the time easier is said than done, but I'm glad they did hold out in the end. Ah I cried reading this it's amazing.
