Here we go again... Are we still reading the same thing? While I do not condone Woohyeon's actions, you can't blame him everything for it. I know it sounds hypocrite but the man has APD (Anti-Social Personality Disorder). He did get diagnosed with it and had professional help but imo he needed someone to teach him what emotions are and how each of it feels. He does not understand what emotions are and their functions. He did have his mother but even his mother was having a hard time...now it seems like I'm making excuses. Anyway, to shorten it the ml has a mental disorder where he lacks empathy or does not understand emotions. Thus, he says or do the things he has been doing.

Not only he witnessed that with his mother, but he was also abandoned by his father. Had to survive by all means when he's still a teenager, left US, went to America. He was psycho not just because of his mental illness alone but because he sees how people reacted towards it. Mental illness + some kind of twisted preconceived ideas about people in general

I'm saying this 'cuz someone is defending MC's mother; I don't believe that the mother felt guilty at their (with mc) last moment. All through out the story, she acted out of her own interest in mind. I agree with one of the comments when they said that the mother was a self-centered bitch (they did not state the exact words). And I think this bitch is a sociopath. She kept blaming mc for their (MC's and ml's relationship) relationship and other stuff that the mother kept mentioning when they were in the car in the way to Soohyun. I hated that scene because throughout their whole conversation the mother was victimizing herself (imo) and kept blaming the mc, in which he just gave up arguing with her due to her not admitting her own mistakes and instead blaming mc for it. Can't believe she had the nerve to cry after all the bullshit she did to the mc.

The story did not explicitly state why the mother did all those things to the mc but the ml did state that she did all those things because she did not want their father to find fault in her. The story portrayed that the mother desperately wanted to inherit the family business. But when the mc was born, he became her "flaw". So, she left the father and son (mc) and never mentioned anything about her getting pregnant. In fact, somewhere in the middle of the story, you will notice that she has a husband in the present time. Anyway, when MC's father died, the mother took mc and went to her not-blood-related brother to hide mc for the time being. She wanted to take mc overseas but because of MC's mental state she decided to hide mc in her not-blood-related brother's (ML) house. And time went by many things happened. And a relationship between ml and mc bloomed. And mother found out about it which she was strongly opposed to. And since she was afraid of their finding out about it she did everything she could to break them apart. When mc was pregnant while mentally unstable, she took him to a sanitarium and locked him up their under the pretext of "protection". The mother took it upon her to decide to get/take his placenta or womb out, resulting to his very weak pheromones and disability to birth another child. There were a lot of things the mother did to the mc in the pretext of "protection" or it's for the MC's own good. But it will take long if I typed it out. In conclusion, the mother is a self-centered narcissistic bitch.

If I was in the MC shoes- I would have legit killed my mother or ordered the ML to do it. Having his placenta removed is absolutely disgusting, she had absolutely no right to interfere and she did it more than once which also led him to attempting suicide. The mother lost everything because of her stupidity if she left the MC and ML alone she could have had everything she wanted but she blew it forcing the ML to take actions.
Just thinking about the mom singing off on the paperwork for the surgery and legitimately feeling it was in his best interest as if it was something he would have ever wanted…. I can’t stress enough how malicious my thoughts are about the mom and the things I would want done to her in seeking justice.
This only my opinion but I think the marriage thing with the "fl" seems a lil bit forced to me (by author). I'm not sure if you can call her an FL cuz the girl was introduced to the readers so suddenly. Idk but it seems to me that the author wanted something along the lines of "POOF since you now have a title, a land, people; all that's left is a wife" or something like that. This would've been nice if the story focused more on Arc's character development, along with his family's bond growing throughout his development journey (that is what he wants—he said something like that in the earlier chapters) and his knightdom growing with his development. And once he completed all that and felt accomplished or satisfied with his achievements, then let him marry. He even said in the latest chaps that he's not even ready to marry yet (BECAUSE HE STILL HAS SOME THINGS HE WANTS TO DO OR ACCOMPLISH BEFORE HE SETTLES DOWN) I like the story but the plot errrm
