I know the character development seems minimal, but I think it reached a huge turning point this chapter. Things are definitely going to be different between the two here on out.

The comment Seungho made to his guard at the end of the chapter was really frustrating, I know, but Seungho definitely did not mean it. Him threatening Heena was a reflection of his own inferiority towards letting a lowborn into his house, with her armed guards, to potentially “steal away” the person he loves. If Heena were to visit his house again, I do believe he would not kill her, because that guarantees losing Nakyum.

Heena does not know of Seungho’s character, the way we, the audience do. She believes Seungho is a very dangerous person, as anyone would, and it’s only natural for her to want to save her brother.

Unfortunately. she’s going to get involved with the wrong business, Min, most likely, and this will only end up hurting Nakyum in the end.

Seungho confronting Nakyum with a pile of clothes may have been a token of his support for whatever decision Nakyum ended up making. I do believe that if Nakyum had told Seungho he was leaving with Heena, Seungho would’ve sent him off with those clothes, because at this point, what right does he have to say otherwise.

Seungho telling Nakyum that he believed Nakyum was telling the truth, shows us two things. 1) Seungho has a newfound trust in Nakyum, that he did not have before, after seeing Nakyum’s brutal honesty. 2) Seungho has learned from his past mistakes of disbelieving the things Nakyum says after the kidnapping incident. This is a hint of development.

Lastly, something I want to put out here. I know Nakyum potentially reciprocating Seungho’s feelings have stirred up a lot of controversy. But what people fail to recognize is that, more than anything, Nakyum wants to be needed. His noonas told him to leave the Kisaeng household, Inhun left Nakyum for a government position without a second thought. Seungho hasn’t thought for a second of letting Nakyum go, and at first this was due to his own selfish reasons. The only time Seungho considered giving Nakyum up was in consideration Nakyum’s own feelings (same as the Kisaengs, who care very deeply about Nakyum).
