Bye! even the little sister knows something is going on.

is there any other stories similar to this but the mc DOESNT choose either of the male leads?
They both suck.

This is just my shipping mentality but since Jeremiah obviously won’t have any romantic interest towards Elincia, I’m hoping he and lady Rusan get together instead but that’s only wishful thinking.

her messing with his shit as a form of revenge is so dumb but so relatable to me.
Also getting stuck somewhere where only her rear is out… yeah… a classic move that’s parodied so much that I can’t take seriously

I’ve read this story when I was 19 yro, and I remember hating Rashta, everything she’s done always annoyed me. Now that I’m 24 (lol time flies by) I guess I’ve developed a different perspective after rereading the whole thing.
It’s an odd feeling seeing someone who was once my age end her life so tragically.
.
I learned to not judge her so harshly now. It’s easy for all of us to judge her for the way she’s acted throughout the entire series. Stuff like “I would never do this or that” but that’s because we’re people who grew up with education. Rashta had none of that. She was slave that her pos father sold for a few extra cash, was treated like a punching bag by the family who bought her. Was psychologically and physically abused and traumatized into believing her newborn had died. She ranway from her abusers, but was now considered a runaway slave which is a crime (yet the slavery part is ok?)
If only Naiver had met her first. Because of Sovieshu got to her first, he enabled a lot of bad influences on Rashta.
.
I get that a lot of us don’t condone adultery but everyone is forgetting that this is inspired on historical events. It wasn’t considered adultery for an emperor to have an emperess and concubines. That was the norm in their society. Rashta growing up without the social etiquette and assumed she would be welcomed. Navier was hostile towards her (for obvious reasons)
If anyone deserves the hate it’s fcking Sovieshu, he finds a broken girl who can’t even read or speak grammatically correct, takes her home and sleeps with her; all without even consulting with his wife. Let’s not forget that he didn’t even tell Naiver that one of them are infertile, would’ve saved so much time.

Finally someone who gets my perspective, I always felt bad for rashta, she seemed so clueless and got enabled to the point of where she thought she coulf get away with alot of things, I also wish Navir could have tried to a bit nicer, i get her perspective but Rashta was actually trynna be nice ag the start, like shii i would switch up if the person i was trynna befriend hated me to

The reason I hate her isn't so much the adultery, it's how quick she is to murder people, and how casually cruel and selfish she is even in other situations. It's learned behaviour of course, but as adults we have to still be responsible for our own actions, stemming from trauma or not - especially if we start hurting other people as a result.

But Sovieshu is absolutely the bigger villain of the two, hard agree.

I wouldn’t say she was quick with it per se, more so she was desperately grasping onto power and because of that she willing to kill anyone to maintain her status, which I can understand since she’s been through so much abuse but I obviously don’t condone that. She was ultimately the victim who became the abuser.

Yeah, it also doesn’t help when you remember that Rashta was mentally younger which only further the enabling of her being super spoiled, so even if we can try to say that she was 19 and should’ve known better, she was very malnourished; which does affect your mental health, and again wasn’t educated on things, the only thing she was taught was the only people in power are protected through violence. It only makes sense for her to end up the way she did.

If you look at it this way, Rashta is actually a good depiction of why you do not mix Peasants with Nobility.
Not because of etiquette, but because of sheer intelligence and how nobles are educated to be manipulative for their own or their country's benefits.

Just look, to not weaken his grip on the empire, Sovieschu planned to have a kid with Rashta and then get rid of her to say it was Navier's (since she was perceived as infertile).

Just like Duke Ergie took advantage of Rashta's lack of understanding, self-awareness and her naivety to get the port and what I talked about in other comments...

It's not her personally that's bad. She just was at the wrong time at the wrong moment and ended up here. There would've been a Rashta to this story anyway, even if it wasn't her.

Thank you, I’ve actually mentioned in a comment a week talking about how Rashta was ultimately just a tool and a scapegoat for almost everything that has happened. So it wouldn’t have mattered if it was anyone other girl Sovieshu found, he just needed a “baby maker”, which sounds wrong but that’s basically how he viewed her, she was just unlucky.
The way the story is portrayed is almost “propaganda” like too, with those who are upper class being righteous and those who are in poverty to be deemed “bad”, I mean look how they acted when it was revealed that she wasn’t a commoner but a slave. You could say that the civilians were already angry for her crimes but it wasn’t until it was revealed that she was a slave where all hell broke loose, why is it necessary for the public to know about her background as a slavery? Because nobles don’t view them like humans already, perpetuating the idea that they’re more educated.

I mentioned it in another comment a few weeks back but basically it is propaganda but not in the sense of slaves not being humans.
It's propaganda to make the nobility of the Eastern Empire look bad and weak.

I'm thinking of my own country's history for example. Where the nobility started to understand that the people were fed up with their poor lifestyle and decided to revolutionize. The Nobles then decided to concede all their powers to the king's family, making our country the first ever Absolute Monarchy, basically making the King a scapegoat for the people's anger.

I'm taking this example for a simple reason, her being a slave wouldn't change anything if she was a good empress, did a great job and didn't have any other controversy. The nobility's reputation would've taken a major hit and would want the Sovieschu and her punished, but the people wouldn't want to storm the castle for that.

But we know how the story went right..

My exact thoughts, I don’t see why people don’t understand that she was manipulated and used if it had been any other girl, would they still feel the same?

In the end of all this she was just a naive hirl brought used and abandoned, the exact thing her father did to her aswell, becoming a slave at a younge age having a child and thinking that her owner killed him, this poor girls been traumatized her whole life.

Another point that I really need people to see is navier should have been nicer, i get it n her thoughts but at times it seemed like she disliked rashta more than Sovieschu, breaks her heart especially with her hugging navier at the end of the chapter crying.

I love a good groveling arc

Why is this rated so low?! it’s only been one chapter. I thought the beginning was decent damn.

Bee September 27, 2024 10:20 pm

I don’t think I’ve ever been so mad seeing a smut scene so bad until now. Why are there more of those two assholes than the main Love interest???
