yep the big brother isnt supportive for his own reasons. i think reading behind the lines is important as he mentions that their family is competing for a heir, as the mc is basically a competitor, if he marries from a powerful family, he becomes a touch competior with formidable support- however marrying the poor mc or even dating him would put him at substantial risk of inheritance because of all the logistics of gay marriage (stigma, and the fact the mc isnt from an affluent family as the mc)
