But the setting presented here is so off in so many ways. The only thing that seems to match is the lack of a support network. The way she leaves is also strange. Idk I just think the way this was handled is odd

I don't agree with the people hating on the romance, right now the only reason she's rejecting him is because she thinks her future is gonna happen with some random man and not him. She's clearly very attracted to him. And it's not out of nowhere either.
But I'm also kinda irritated with the progression in that area when it's so clearly stalling the paternity test development. If the reveal doesn't happen soon I'm also gonna start hating on the romance plot

And this story still would've worked the same if it had been 12 years instead of 15.
Hell, it even would've worked with 8 years.
