I don’t read such stories. I myself know for a fact that it’s true. A lot of families do allow it. The thinking way is more like „ it’s a cousin not brother or sister“ yes I know sometimes cousins can be brothers and sisters but there are actually sick families who want their child to Merry the cousin. Sometimes they themself agree cuz it’s a relative they didn’t really meet often so it’s more like a friend Situation between the cousins and not a sibling. And why do I know about it? Cuz my friends Family wants her to merry her cousin. She is of course against it like a lot of people but as for the older generation, it’s a normal thing to do.

I totally get your point and I’m also very much against it.. but my point is that it does still exist. The older generation think it’s normal while the newer generation thinks it’s disgusting. I do aware of how big and diverse Asia is, but then you forget that being in one continent doesn't share the same cultures. While there is the similarity in the continent we stand on, but every cultures and history differ. Minority exist. The rate is high in middle east but then you can't say it is normal in ASIAN country. The rate of inbreeding also high in brazil, then can we say it is normal in America? No, cause one brazil doesn't represent a WHOLE america.

I do get your point and I totally respect it yet you said yourself there is for sure a slight possibility for it to happen. Many families are desperate for their child to merry. Sometimes they don’t find anyone so it does come in mind for many people to let them merry their relatives. Yes, the majority of people don’t do this shit and probably think of it as a taboo. Yet there is a slight possibility for it to happen even in asian families. Yes the majority of it happens in the Middle East. But Still..I feel like this is going I many directions.
