… i have a feeling the ssr character may be hatano’s brother. he mentioned it before in the xmas chapter, saying his brother made a reservation. he has a brother, and i think this is him!

the way he talks to the mob doesn’t say anything direct about romantic feelings to hatano. he never blushes or looks flustered.

i think it’s going to be like a parallel to ayato and big bro mob character, like hatano and his big brother who is aware of the bl world.

i could be wrong!

SPOILERS

i think it’s implied that after kiku leaves shirou decides to kill himself…? his last line implies that he’s going to make his own decision to join kiku, and kiku is currently gone to where grandpa is (afterlife), so…. shirou decides to commit suicide to follow the one person in his life that he could openly love (the uncle’s discussion with kiku implies that shirou grew up extremely alone, so it’s no wonder why shirou got so attached to kiku, even to the point of death — he even says to kiku that he’s willing to die for him.) kiku reprimands shirou and tells him to “live with me” but in the end, shirou realizes he can’t live without kiku to the point of being willing to die with kiku. his last line before the end of the series imply his wish to join kiku — which would only be possible by suicide.

all in all, it really is a tragedy — shirou actually grew up in an abusive household (negligence of the parents — and as we saw in the last chapter, uncle also admits to being unwilling to care for shirou himself) and the product of his abuse manifests as an extreme attachment to the only person in his life that actually openly showed him affection and care. shirou’s story of abusive upbringing ends with suicide — a high possibility in abuse victims.
