They will do anything in the power for their country. You guys need to accept the plot and then comment on the SA part.

As a reader it's very important to take these stories as just stories. If someone wants you read a healthy plot this is not it. I guess it already has a novel. I'm someone who doesn't read SA plots I wouldn't even spare a glance at them but certain plot like this is unique and interesting. Now we as readers wants a real world where men would treat women better and erase SA however putting such expectations on an already existing novel is stupid.
