i'm on my 3rd (4th?) rereading of this webtoon and once again, i can't help but think pilgyeon's story is so regrettable. i felt like parts of his life was so sad and i almost wish he could have gotten a redemption arch instead. thinking about how he was so lonely, how he never received any love from his parents. also in one flashback soongap's mom tells him to always stay by soongap's side... in the end he couldn't :'')
every scene where we get to see pilgyeon as a kid tugs at my heartstrings and i just want someone to give him a hug. he made too many awful choices to deserve a redemption arch, but i would have loved if the story had been a little different and maybe he could have found someone of his own, keep soongap as a friend and brother and not been so lonely. but the story needed an antagonist & a threat so i understand why the author chose to do it this way. this webtoon is still a masterpiece anyway.
