Mc likes bad boy, bad boy is a player and likes nerd but since he can't accept he's a he bullied nerd, mc gets jealous and in a way protects nerd from bad boy and the ml is just observing for now

Male Leads in general tend to be more appealing because they're not just supposed to entice main character but also the reader..main characters can oftentimes be the character that the reader will almost always emphasise and put their shoes on because their perspective is what we see the most! So even if they're not pretty or attractive we'll tend to form a connection with them and stay around to see their story!
