I really honestly think they could have added more angst to this and drawn out the whole "I'll die so you can have your powers back" or like maybe have done a different way to appease the gods? Idk I just feel like the author should have picked a different way to conclude this... I feel like a sad ending would have fit much better. Either with Sousuke dying or becoming an empty shell.
I feel like the story was too comical to have a sad ending. If it were a bit more serious, a sad ending would have been good.

yes it was more a lighthearted story, so I think a death would have been out of place and , you know, really p*ssed me off, haha
Can you just imagine how hard that was for Keiichi to have to choose between his ten years of loving them both like sons but then having their not so child-parent love thrust upon him and then he realizes how much he covets them and is absolutely horrified with himself so he tries to make them kinda (not really) hate him?
