What can she do against the royal family? She holds no power or title to defend herself let alone Eris. And I'd also be confused as to why Eris hates and abuses me but says nothing against the prince of that's responsible for his actions. Original!Eris knew Helena couldn't refuse the prince as a commoner but instead of saying something to him (she can't obviously because she doesn't have any power either against royalty) she tormented Helena.
Helena saw how others were punished if they made her late to tea with the Queen-imagine publicly refusing the prince's advances. She isn't stupid, she's trapped in a game of chess between the king and queen-just like Eris.
