Two stars for keeping me entertained. Overall too bloody, too depressing. What are we left with in the end? We’re left with deep disdain for all the characters. Choa was destined for Ill fate. There was nothing to root for. Other than the art being good and depicting hot men doing horrendous deeds. It all feels meaningless. One thing I did get from the story was how cruel and psychotic rulers of the the past must have been. Looking into ancient Korea I noticed a lot of similarities with killing off family in royalty. Halfway through the story I was begging for it to all be supernatural and just not as plain cruel criminal cases are. Then I realized towards the end “oh there’s no happy ending to this story”. It’s such an odd take to romanticize all the wrong things in life morally and spiritually lol. I indeed had to continue reading this as a joke just to make myself feel better that I spent energy reading it. The only character I liked was the prince and even his demise was just abrupt and meaningless. All the fake loving and peace in the chapters also felt meaningless when you see the end result. I will never refer anyone to this story honestly.

To be loved is all we want regardless of who we are what we look like ahhhh I love the prince trope. I love how he didn’t ask him to change but the prince met him half way and even removed his title. It’s just pure romance I love it.
Oh I love it that the irony of this world is the more you avoid BL the higher chance it will happen! how MC goes from attracting no one then suddenly we have a handful of boys that are crossing his path and would be lovely choices to be his pair.
Rereading this, I can’t explain how much I love it. We really feel so strongly wether negative or positively for Natsuki because we see everything from his perspective, flaws and all. He’s so human. Loving someone too late, yet still being accepted by Seno, who’s flawed in his own way, just like Hakushima. They all want love and acceptance so badly, and it’s beautiful how flawed they are, yet we still root for them, especially Seno. Wanting to change for someone who’s caught up in their own fantasy of love. We never fully understand Hakushima, even in the end, and that sticks with you as a reader. It’s brilliant. I also cant help but keep thinking of their family dynamic and i love that the author shows it to us.
Natsuki comes from a loving open family (sure they have their challenges but they still love their son even if he’s adopted, and even if he feels like an outsider) the cuckoo reference is so good too, because how sad it is in reality! Yet it’s part of nature.
Seno coming from a chaotic home with no real love or acceptance makes him the one desperately wanting to be loved and it’s incredibly relatable.
Hakushima has everything a person could want but the love he desires which is the kind that can’t be replaced by money or status and his loneliness while still being the center of attention is also quite human. we don’t get to see more of it but it would be so nice to get a chapter from his view point. In the end I feel

Pretty interesting how many people agree that in the end the unrequited love is still apparent. The story is so.. human! So realistic. We are naturally selfish creatures and willfully choose to love others based on precious childhood love or even the fantasy of being with the one you loved. It really is like that and this story captures it beautifully. It doesn’t indulge you in fantasy it brings you down to earth and makes you see all the flaws of the characters. Seno is extremely flawed but we root for him. Natsukis has a good heart but over all makes dumb decisions but is surrounded by loved ones. Truly an antagonist in his own right. And we see the whole relationship through his lens it’s so interesting to be blinded from what is real and what is your desires. Because of his passion for loving Hakushima we never get to see how Hakushima feels and who he is as a person. Being the center of attention and still not knowing the character is brilliant writing. Is he even straight is he actually stronger than we realized? Is he actually Hakushima? The mystery is fantastic to read. The author really lets you dwell and come to your own conclusion. A movie adaption would be so fantastic to see.

I like that the story is pretty realistic regarding dating. The age gap isn’t seen as a a big conflict and a gay relationship is more excepting these days. I like that this sister aunt was honest about her feelings where at first she didn’t understand the male lead, but soon after her sister passed away, she understood him more. I liked that we were on the roller coaster of emotions that the main character felt it was quite realistic and comforting to read. I liked that the kid Yuu to has a personality and excepted his father and his teacher getting together small touches like that really completed the story. I saw in the ending panels that the aunt had her own baby and it made me feel that the story has layers and the characters have a past and the future. This would be a good plot for a live drama especially since it’s family friendly enough. For the manga, I wish it was a little more erotic other than that a good read.

Good god that was so comforting and sweet to read. Just perfect pacing and a few loopholes but overall the story is so pleasing and I squealed at the thought of the Prince whisking away senba. Oh how I loved the ending I actually teared up. There’s just enough layers where you can imagine and play out the side characters and the events that are around the the couple. How I’d love to see a live action or anime related to this story. Gosh their chemistry was so good when shal pulled him in and stared before passionately kissing eachother. It felt so real. I liked that the mirror was just a quick portal to another country lol. I wish more magic was explained and I would have like to see more dates in their countries. I love that the ML is a foreigner with dark complexion. I love that being a foreigner only increased attraction and though they looked different they were so alike in their roles in life. I’m definitely adding this story as a comfort read ahhh
