I’ve read this a couple times, it’s quite a memorable story. I wish there was a little more chemistry or perspective from the the ML as we mainly get the POV from our sweet bunny boy but it still felt like a wary feeling that the ML has never outright said he actually likes him. Just small details like that would be nice to get an update from. Also the world they live in is so detailed but we never fully got introduced to a character so at times it was hard to understand their relationships to eachother. Still a cozy read. I would categorize this in shounen ai… not much sex was implied and their special night was a an extra chapter that faded to black…. I was terrified It would leave me craving or missing that sexual tension but the story and plot is so damn good I forgive it. A story about story telling and writing of course it’s gonna be a fantastic read. After sitting through many half asses manwahs and modern stories that just lacked a lot in the plot, this was so refreshing to read in 2024. I stand by stating that anyone can be an artist, an author even but not everyone can be a storyteller and my god this was a story worthy of telling. I cried which usually hits my 5 start mark, but I really was missing the sexual chemistry I love in a yaoi. A DEFINITE recommend to anyone and everyone.

It was pretty realistic in dynamics of relationships with other people but the romance was quite lacking… and the uke appeared emotional, overthinking,needy and probably deserved someone that would romance him up. Because of the sex he’s mainly interested ( I would be too ngl) but the seme showed little interest in changing even if he does in the end he was just very lackluster. I couldn’t find anything I particularly liked about him other than his straightforwardness but that’s not what makes you fall in love with the guy I guess. Not once could we connect with him as the audience (like a close up panel of his real emotions) compared to the uke. Anyways it’s. 2 stars for this reason for me.

I have a theory the author never planned on keeping the story up longer than intended. Or even cared for their story, with a vague name and a vague author name that cannot be traced back to anything, no fan base or social media that would have showed some promotion on there end as an artist. Most likely this was experimental and they go by another aliases of the internet. An author wants notoriety and they get that somewhere else I imagine. Morally it’s not acceptable to steal and continuously take advantage of Artists. But there are so many ways to fight that or find peace with it and created a strong fan base or support yourself in other ways ( example the author of Boyfriends has a strong fan base and fans that will spend time and money to help spread their artwork) I understand not everyone is strong willed enough so it’s hard to see a story go that has a lot of potential. I would have loved to read what happened next. I wish the male less was more cool headed but there was still good chemistry with the MC.

The art is fantastic. Clean, proportion, pretty and overly satisfying. A lot of cliches and comic relief panels in between angst. This writing style always takes me out of the plot and makes the story feel less serious and if your aiming to read a comfy story with sexy scenes it works, but the story plot felt like of tried to make it self serious and comedic and erotic at the same time, with a lack of characterization depth and storytelling. I like the golden retriever, pitiful rich boyfriend trope. Reminded me of Tamaki from OHSHC. I like the BJ setting I just wish it wasn’t thrown of the story plot as soon as they became boyfriends, it was so impactful in the beginning.. now that I think of it, as soon as the characters started dating the story and plot just kinda disappeared it felt a little like I was reading two separate stories. Overall all I’ll give it an ok rating!
