oh god can someone please explain what's going on? I'm so lost and I don't even remember the last chapter I read. I think it was the blonde hair guy (not simon) seeing Conor through a video again and saying they were old acquaintances and wanted to "catch up"
We're pretty much back to flashbacks. After Simon and Conor finally met again, Conor was about to tell something important to Simon and then we flashed back.
In these flashbacks, we're seeing Simon and Conor back when they were happily together and just before Conor was severely beaten up by Pete and other people of that racist group, named WAF. We find out how the WAF knew that Conor and Simon were gay (because they put camera's in their house) and it's also hinted at that someone had wanted Simon and Conor to break up, which is why they were targeted (who this person is, we don't know. But personally, I think it's someone of the music agency that Simon is a part of in the present. They might have wanted Simon and Conor to break up, so they could have Simon join their agency. That music agency wasn't going to allow Conor to join too, for reasons we don't know, but Simon wasn't going to join them without Conor. So, if Conor wasn't out of the way, they couldn't have Simon. Which might be the reason why Conor was targeted).
The blonde guy you're talking about is Pete. He is a part of the WAF and happened to see that video of Conor and Simon. When he said he wanted to 'catch up', it meant he wanted to be part of the group that would beat Conor up and damage his hand. Pete has always hated Conor, only because Conor is Asian.
Anyway, so now we get to see what lead up to Conor's hand being broken. We also get to see what Simon has been doing and been willing to do for Conor (like asking his brother to kill the people who hurt Conor).
They better change back to the Korean names and not the ugly ass white washed webtoon ones.
tell that to webtoon.
I too dont like the english names for a korean webtoon but I think it’s part of their strategy since most readers cant remember korean names and sometimes they mix them up. I think it’s not that they’re whitewashing but just making names easier to remember.
The original names shouldn't have to be changed to make it easier for non Korean readers. It's not that difficult to remember Korean names, nearly all of them are just two syllables.
How hard is it to remember Korean names? It's just remembering a string of latin letters it's not even in fucking Korean.
Why not complain about English names as well? David, Daniel. Both start with 'Da', I can't remember the difference.
its not hard. some bitchy babies along the line, probably got all whiny about it, so they probably had to change it. you should have seen my "conversation" with one of those whiny bitches. bitching about how, "i dont know korean, so its hard for me to remember korean names" like dafuq?
Honestly though, if people can get used to saying shit like Tchaikovsky then they can get used to names like Hyung Suk and Jae Yeol
omg that violin composer example tho hahah.
okay the reason why i sad that is bcoz i’ve read somewhere in webtoon app in one chapter of Hive webtoon, someone said they cant even remember the main character’s name. It was a TOP comment. So i realized, that must be the reason why they changed Daniel’s name in lookism. I am okay with both but i prefer korean one ofc. Tae Joon our author named him from his friend after all
Man that's so dumb though. I don't understand how people have such a hard time with Korean names. I can understand people struggling to pronounce them correctly but just remembering them isn't hard.
