I interpreted the deer's death as more of a metaphorical scene rather than a seperate one. It seemed to be paralleling them having sex with a predator/coyote hunting a deer. Symbolising that like the deer was hunted, the MC is being hunted by Todd (Black hair, don't remember if that's his name sorry lol) and as they have sex he is falling into the trap. This will likely differ to the intention but we'll just have to wait and see
