Hmmm it’s a tricky age gap, ml is slightly older than me, but having coworkers the same age as fmc, I think there’s not too big of a difference between us, like ik that’s just cuz I personally interact with everyone like they’re roughly my age or just assume they are (imagine my bewilderment when I found out they were all in their 30s lol), unless someone is younger than me (I don’t like ppl younger than me lmfao, I’m biased and a hypocrite ik ik sue me), but I feel like there’s really no difference in maturity between us and the only time I ever notice the age gap is when I referencing things niche to my generation or age group (like specific memes I like or brain rot but I think that more shows I spend too much time online than anything else lol). Ofc 18 would be absolutely insane but I feel like 23 is fine enough considering they’re being somewhat careful/respectful to one another abt their relationship, it does worry me that she was treating him like he was younger but it seems they might’ve already addressed that issue. I mean I personally wouldn’t be apposed to dating someone her age as long as they didn’t use my age against me that’s where relationships with age gaps get messy or inappropriate cuz then there’s a power imbalance, I think rn that’s not an issue and he seems like he can stand up for himself enough. After typing that all out I’ve come to the conclusion I’d 100% be ok with dating someone her age, in fact I’d welcome it, I think there is room for insecurity in the relationship because someone at 35 might be more well established than someone my age, especially since I don’t have a degree and I’m still in and out of school and working but honestly speaking I don’t think that matters, nothing says someone actually is more established then anyway especially in today economy like my sister is 10 years older than me and she’s cooked we’re both cooked, people born in the early 90’s all graduated and were thrown into adulthood during a recession they were really put at a disadvantage, I think as long as you communicate those insecurities and you don’t let it ruin your relationship there shouldn’t be a problem? We’re all working adults with the ability to communicate after all.
