Not just to provide information about the killer but also how the whole game even started. I was wondering all throughout the story how they got stuck inside the "game" and I thought it couldn't be just because they played the console, right? So the occult being mentioned got my attention, since it deals with demons and otherworldly things, that could be how they ended up in this situation. The game might be cursed or something due to being connected to the occult and they were the victims who unknowingly got into something they shouldn't have.
Anyways, these are all just theories, we'll all know the truth once we get more updates, I'm so excited (≧∀≦)
