Okay... Reading through the comments, there’s nothing wrong with not understanding someone with a mental illness or feeling uncomfortable with their current situation. We all have our own experiences and there’s nothing wrong with that.
For those who were confused;
Basically, I think what they were doing is putting two characters with similar mental difficulties and showing them handling it in two different ways. One who can’t face/come to terms with all of their fears so they hide from everything else to make it “easier” and another who as some would say “fake it til you make it” but of course until you face it it’s going to pile up until it breaks you. That is what we just witnessed in the last chapter.
Not too sure what his fear is but I think it has something to do with being overly empathetic. Taking too much of another persons pain into his own hands thinking it’s his responsibility to fix it. I’m guessing he’s been trying to keep the uke distracted and has been using sex and avoiding sad subjects believing it would help solve the problem. (I don’t quite know the term for this mental illness, just that it’s very stressing because these are people who overthink, are very sensitive to the emotions and tones of others (example being if someone let out a random sigh that might have sounded frustrated, they may believe that the person is hurt or that they did something to annoy that person), and sometimes try to fix things that don’t really need to be fixed.) More than likely it started from a mental scar from some source of blame. Either he did something to fuck something up for someone else or someone really did a real number on him by making him think he did aka manipulation. The manipulation part usually comes from someone the party is very close with which makes the mental scar all that deeper.
If that’s the route they’re taking, they’re actually doing a pretty good job on showing how it works.
(Again this is a theory of mine, don’t actually know what he’s going through or why he’s so stressed.)
Again, it’s completely okay to not understand or feel uncomfortable. I hope my explanation helped at least a little bit. It’s four am. Haven’t slept properly in two days. ( ̄へ ̄)
I hope y’all have a goodnight. (⌒▽⌒)

I completely understand your frustration. It gets me sometimes too. Especially when it comes to those who put others down for having these difficulties. Then I remember all the things I don’t understand that put others in a hard place. It’s all about experience and coping. We all do it differently and until we go through it, it’s not going to be as easy to understand. As long as people give in the effort though, even if they can’t quite understand in the end, that’s enough for me. (But I do get the frustration. ( ̄∇ ̄") )

Officially one of my favorite stories. I couldn’t stop laughing and it had been so long since my heart truly ached at a characters hurt expression. The pure romance and the way they picture happiness is just so perfect! It was like they were made for each other and that thought made it all the better. I’m so satisfied with the ending as well! It was such a perfect way to end the story!! All together is was beautiful!

That broke my heart too. If there’s one thing I know, a family is made up of people who have unconditional love and support for one another. People who you can fight like crazy with but at the end of the day they’re the first ones you go to with anything, about anything.
It has nothing to do with blood or gender. It’s everything to do with the heart and your connection.
