That logic flies out the window when they're already being sneaks with his boyfriend for 3 months without him knowing. There's a difference between waiting for someone to come out by respecting their decisions and leaving them alone, vs digging your nose into his personal business without him knowing and giving him the false hope he can come out when he wants to when you've already arranged everything with his boyfriend.
