Fear not, (spoilers beware) they are very much receiving their happily ever after. Look more closely, they are cohabitating in the house that Ellie and his wife lived in. It is secluded so it is the safest place for Eric to be (and they can also do whatever weird stuff they want without worrying about peeping toms)! It's a win-win.

This story was really good, I seriously love it so much, but the ending really sucked. The story could've been like double the length. If they're worried about bad quality, take more time making the chapters and plotting ?? It makes me sad.. it feels like something's missing
