I just realized after seeing the tags for this story!
Time to let it marinate. The pace is super slow so I’m guessing this is a short story or it will need at least 30 chapters to see more of it since they’ve barely talked to each other in these past four chapters.
It’s truly sad that people lack the ability to assess a story and its quality bc they get stuck in the rape. It’s almost like the victim mentality transcends any ability to make a reasonable decent critic towards a piece of fiction. I’m glad there is a huge public out there who was indeed capable to understand the story and the way their love works.
It’s a relieve that the author and artist both left no room for doubt about the fact that indeed in the end they were meant to save each other for whatever definition they had for love.
One of my favorite pieces indeed. It navigates the human mind under extreme environments with a completely different set of morals.
Yes to all of this, we are facing a huge reading comprehension crisis, so many people don't understand subtext, nor complex themes, it's kind of unfortunate how such a deep story will not be understood by so many because they cannot grasp layered characters nor dubious morality.
Anyways i am also happy that the author and artist made it a point to explain their messed up love and how they don't know how to express it, but it's there.

I read actual books. Manga/manwha/manhua are entirely different pieces of literature. I don’t consider them actual books. If you lack the ability to make proper critics and have proper opinions about a manwha, just say so. But don’t assume people don’t read books because you don’t like dark and complex topics. Go back to read your wholesome stories, heartstopper or something.
The over consumption of fan fiction is what has people only liking light and wholesome “tropes” people forget how plots actually work. Not to mention kids these days are on a quest to tell people how fictional preferences define the entire spectrum of people’s real life morality. Since they’re young and easily influenced, they think everybody lets fiction influence their lives. When it’s the complete opposite, fiction represents reality, it takes elements from reality to create stories. Not the other way around. But these people let fiction dictate their personalities and actions and that’s why they’re desperate to frame every piece of fiction as immoral or unacceptable. And this blinds the little judgment they have towards complex, dark and morally grey subjects and characters in fiction.
Mfs expect someone to take them seriously when they read rape mangas that don't even properly talk about it on an illegal site. The author don't fuck with you. If they saw a screenshot of you in here they'd despise you. If a mf wanna hate on a rape bl on a legal site then let them. Ts not peak, you just have a mental problem. I can tell now what people hate this kind of stories. They’re too complex for simple readers. The amount of people who don’t know how we got here when this has been developing since chapter one is amazing.
They’re both victims. And they bonded over their trauma. None of them is more toxic than the other. The fact that one is the one doing the penetration doesn’t mean he’s automatically the worst one. People just love to project their victim mentality bc of their own traumas and real life morals.
Their destinies have been tied from the beginning. They have lived around each other from the beginning. Heeseo wasn’t the only one obsessing over. He was just more straightforward about it bc he didn’t have any guilt towards a “family” who took him in like Taekyung. Taekyung has always desire to walk next to him but he couldn’t simply dismiss his “family” that’s why he was angry at himself. Angry that he didn’t have the guts to stop felling guilty and make his own life with his own decisions. Heeseo is the only thing he has decided for himself for himself. And Heeseo is the only one who has ever put Taekyung as number one priority. They absolutely deserve each other in the best of ways.
Thinking that “oh, they dislike something I like? That means I’M SMARTER AND THEY’RE STUPID!!” is what only stupid people would say. And this is coming from someone who actually enjoys the story.

Absolutely, I agreen with all of this! People just completely ignore all the nuance of Taekyung and Heeseo's conflicting feelings. Human beings are complicated and so are their emotions, who knew.
And I don't understand how the story is confusing at all lmao? It's really not, if they actually reread it they'll see that this is where it was going the entire time. If you don't like it - stop reading, it's really that simple.
The story is not "bad" by any means just because some of you decided to reduce it to "victim fell in love with rapist".

In the original raw, he says “I won’t be able to take it. If you do that, I’ll break”. Which has more impact in my opinion. Exposes more the fact that he’s been living his life around Heeseo this entire time and the whole reason he stayed next to his adoptive family was out of guilt. Because they took him in. But the woman has been a horrible human being since the beginning, and he knows it. And he’s never seen his friend as anything other than a brother. So, he could never choose his relationship with him over Heeseo bc with Heeseo, he has an unbreakable bond, whatever the nature or quality of that bond. Their lives have been tied together since the beginning. No matter how hard they pretend or try to live separate lives, they’re always gravitating to each other and have never stopped thinking about one another.
i agree it’s got abit more poetic impact w that translation, but i think the english translators really trying to be more literal and emphasise hes got no reason to live if he made that choice— might be to hand feed the point to the audience or make it feel more impactful for heeseo to hear those words but either way i kinda liked it abit more this way— but i see what you mean too!
