You may think that the ml is a fucking asshole but he has severe regression depression, and treated people like tools to reach an ending, especially and unfortunately his guild members. Throughout the story, mc and ml developed individually as characters and as a couple.

Ml thought mc like an interesting toy at first, before he knew mc’s real objective. But he starts treating mc like a respectable human after mc finally tells him that he’s from a different world and that ml’s end is coming soon. This was what the ml wanted to hear, after years and years of regressions and solitude, not knowing when it will end, living miserably not being able to die. Mc brings hope to his horrible life. He is his salvation.

Mc also grows balls and doesn’t hide his complaints, setting his boundaries (kinda?). Also the guild members starts respecting and getting attached to the mc too. Another thing I think is cute, Jehee treats his 3 closest guild members like his own kids, his own family. Throughout all of his regressions, they are always the ones he took in.

Near the end of the novel, the start of their relationship gets addressed by ml!
