Eve created a topic of Ookami wo Karu Housoku

I read the novel originally a while back and found this a few years after the fact. I have to say the manga does gloss over a lot of details in the book and doesn't seem to totally capture the mate bond between Chay and Keaton. I don't know...I just don't find it detailed enough. It's too fast paced to the point that their interactions seem really meaningless. This is omegaverse btw, so I found it odd that other omegaverse mangas represented the mater bond better. The novel itself wasn't a masterpiece either but the concept was good, with some "problems/plotholes".

I also just heard that J.L Langley, the author is retiring but tbh not too sad considering she has prob had writer's block for quite a while with her last book in this series being in 2011 and her announcement of being 70% finished with the most recent in 2017. Girl has not finished any of the books she planned for this series for quite the time now.

Anyway, hopefully, the rest of the chapters delve more into it but that's my rant/review for the day.

This is super heartwarming and the 2nd volume can add even more to it. I'm hoping this will be picked up soon...hopefully it won't take years.

Eve created a topic of Black Mirror

It was pretty clear from the beginning that both Jun and Yeonwoo were not only crazy but also murderers. People keep mentioning how its such a crazy twist out of nowhere and I'm just wondering what are people reading if they never saw that happening?

I don't know...I don't really care for their characters as the author has not shown much of their personality...just a lot of fucking. You have to make us care for them beyond just them being "hot". Both are irredeemable and unlikeable characters with Jun being a pushover who shows psychotic tendencies and having the personality of a sex toy bc all he does is get fucked while Yeonwoo is your stereotypical, buff, aloof, mysterious male lead who could just be a penis bc he had nothing to say throughout the 50 chapters.

I get that the professor did some questionable things but I don't know..I feel the author is simply making him seem so bad just to make Yeonwoo and Jun look better. Like....uhhh SIR.. Yeonwoo MURDERED innocent people while Jun clearly murdered people and also is only "good" bc he lost his memories. The professor SIMPLY gave a new life to an orphan (iffy here but still raised Jun) AND only committed adultery with Yeonwoo's aunt. BROOO not the SAME thing and nowhere near as bad as what our main characters did. No amount of "tragic backstory" can redeem or save Yeonwoo's character.

Eve created a topic of Black Mirror

"I did kill them." Nooooooooo I never would have thought....

The author built it up for 40 chapters to nothing bc we already knew. I wish they would have focused more on WHY he has these powers and HOW. I feel like its just going to be "he has these powers JUST BECAUSE".

Eve created a topic of Melt at Night

I very much agree with anonymous who said rape scenes grab attention and sells. I feel this relates to Fantasy rape whereby when it is in a fiction story and presented in such a romanticized way, people are completely fine with and in fact enjoy. I do understand how so many people are upset bc it could influence readers to copy this behavior in real life but that is something that is bound to happen or not happen depending on the person. Similarly to violent video games, does it increase violence or not? Nobody really knows. It depends on the person.

Besides that, I think in this case it was completely fine and I did think "Woah what're you doing?!?" But clearly the uke enjoyed it somewhat and although he was more forceful, he was more shocked than anything. There are some mangas that do way worse than just rape and in fact constantly use it to further the relationship and build on the toxic bond that when challenged completely crumbles bc all that linked them was forceful rape/sex and a flimsy ass confession.

That said, people have to stop calling others names for liking this shit because its straight up fantasy rape. It is different from real actual rape and I don't think anybody condones that. Fantasy rape is a fantasy LOL. It's in a person's imagination where they're ok with the domination, man-handling, roughness etc. But in the imagination, you could stop whenever you want to unlike actual rape. So tying this to actual rape is not realistic nor fair.

Eve created a topic of Love Is An Illusion

This manhwa has been FULL of people getting the brains and shit fucked out of them. Heck they fuck each other so hard, mental illnesses disappear into thin air and for some reason the transference of communication is through semen and lots of it.

Where are the people who said, "iT tAKes TIme to ChANge". I LOVE how the author thought she tried something by having Chowon say, "You can't expect me to change overnight...my medication isn't working" BRUH WHERE-WHERE is the CHANGE...she calling her audience out as if she changed him or gave him decent character development. AND if your medication not working..IDK speak to your doctor about CHANGING it? Same thing happened with the others...

Dojin and Hyesung: "You HaTE me? FINE I'll fuck the the shit out of you and magically my semen will make you lOVe me" (at least we're still better than Chowon and Kyungsoo)

Kungsoo and Chowon: You got issues such as obsession and have committed multiple crimes against innocent people and ONLY apologized for it without ever having to have any consequences? Bruh who cares? You're fucking gorgeous. Hell YEA I'll fuck you so hard it looks like I'm shitting in you.

Dojun and Heesoo: Ummm...no we--we don't partake in fucking our problems away...wait ...wHAt?!? the other couples have been fucking instead of communicating?......oooook BYE

Eve created a topic of Black Mirror

I mean the concept is interesting but I feel the author really banks on this mystery that she's dragged on for ages and then when we find out what is it, it really won't be all that amazing. It sort of annoying that the uke is so stupid and says, "Don't lie to me" and proceed to just accept his answer which wasn't even an answer. Then apparently they fuck the next chapter so like he really is DUMB bc you got your 'boyfriend' who's very crazy and lies to your face and you go YEA but his dick good. The plot is really meh. I can already see the plotholes before she reveals the 'secret'.

And yea some ppl might reply, "WHy are yOu ReADinG iT thEn?" Well because I want to see if it improves and is even worth it till the end. I wouldn't know if I didn't read it...DUH

Eve like topic of Love Is An Illusion

Wow Why did I even expect the author to put any effort into really showing Chowon changed. For real just apologized and I'm "taking my meds" and then everything is solved. Wow rich people and them apologizing solved EVERYTHING. But tbh why would I expect so much from an author who has not developed the main couple very well either. And Chowon should still apologize to other people ahem* Dojun, not the other way around. Chowon didn't do SHIT and just apologized and then low key manipulated Kyungsoo with his tears and then KYUNGSOO, straight up admitted shit like "I still love you...How could somebody dump you or hurt you?...Maybe I should be with you..afterall all the THINGS YOU DID...doesn't have anything to do with me?"

WTFFFFFFFFFF! Did he really just absolve Chowon of all his terrible behavior and say it has nothing to do with him if he's going to be WITH him???!?! Who TF goes "Oh you might have attempted to rape my ACQUAINTANCE..but you didn't do that to me sooo...I mean it doesn't REALLY matter". "As long as you feel bad about it, then all is well." What happened to Kyungsoo's resolve to not see him? What happened to "I'm scared of you". What happened to " What you did isn't right and isn't something a human should do"?!?!?! It makes Kyungsoo look like a fucking hypocrite and disgusting bc all he cares about is how he likes Chowon and how pretty he is that all of THAT washes away everything Chowon has done to other people. BOY straight up said, "well he doesn't treat me badly, so its all good."

I don't know....maybe people dumped him BECAUSE HE'S CRAZY. He has issues with obsession and the fact that him taking his meds and apologized solved even his mental illnesses like it was nothing is not only NOT realistic but also shows the author does not give a shit about her characters' development and just brushed shit under the rug. And most of all, the readers brushed that shit under the rug bc ohhhh poor baby 20 something year old, comes from a rich ass family, Chowon, who has mental issues so easily fixed, who has threatened people, controlled Dojun's life, and attempted to rape Heesoo....is finally happy. Readers just go "omg so cute the baby omg so cute kYUNGSOO stayed with toxic ass Chowon who apologized so he isn't toxic anymore duh! That's how redemption and development WoRKs. This why partially the author doesn't really try all that hard bc audiences are so easily fooled and moved.

Eve created a topic of Love Is An Illusion

He's CHaNGeD....yea suuure. This is what happens when you gloss over development. Author keeps one of two tactics which is either gloss over the development with some words and narration aka quoted from Kyungsoo, "He's changing little by little". Maybe she should idk...SHOW don't TELL. OR she glosses it over by just having the characters fuck each other. It'll fuck all the shitty actions out of him AND give some readers' some lack of post-nut clarity at least temporarily. Oh wait I forgot one more technique, which is the "use your lover to fix you" trope. Sure surrounding yourself with good people who can support you is great but not if you're making them bend to your every need and treating them like a punching bag. Apparently according to lots of readers, he's ChANgEd they said, he's gotten chArACtER DeVeLoPmEnT.....they said.

Eve like topic of Black Bird

Man I came back to read the last few chapters because I missed it but didn't realize there was a 2019 update. It was very sweet and nostalgic. I don't know why some people are seemingly pissed at Kyou because he got mad at his own son. Let's be real, it isn't Sou-chan's fault BUT it is. She basically gave her entire life force to Sou-chan and only survived bc Kyou gave his energy to her but bc all the energy went to Sou-chan, there was not enough for her entire body. The way the Senka's life works is she gives up her life to give life to another and only because of such a miracle was she able to survive. Sou-chan is technically the reason Misao is impaired in the legs. Did he do it on purpose, of course not. Not to mention they even explain that he just directed the anger towards Sou bc he couldn't forgive himself and was mad at himself. And I actually liked that he got angry bc what Sou-chan said wasn't intentionally malevolent but those words really hold a lot of meaning even if he didn't know what they meant. He was essentially saying "No mom your impairment is annoying" and Kyou's like "who tf do you think caused this and do you know what you just said?!?!". Sou-chan and Kyou caused her to be like that. I think because of that incidence Sou understood why his mother is impaired and truly understood the love his father and mother shared and how much they loved him.

Got to say the author did an amazing job from the middle to the ending because Misao didn't get out of it unscathed and instead she lost feeling in her legs and is impaired which is a great consequence considering they told us that she would die.

Was expecting SOMETHING considering people's comments about how its sad and dark. I mean technically it was sad and dark because of suicide and rape but very poorly written. It seems the author was trying a Romeo and Juliet thing with the suicide but failed terribly at making even me, a super emotional person, feel no emotion at all for the characters. The characters might as well have been dolls because of how much personality they lacked. This was so dumb and pointless.

Eve created a topic of Anata ga shitekurenaku temo

Stumbled upon this and read 9 chapters or so. It just seems so depressing? I skimmed the recent chapters and saw its basically more complicated with everyone cheating on everyone. Also I don't have time atm to read it but just wondering everybody's opinion after reading to the most recent chapters.

Eve created a topic of Dear Benjamin 1.5

I mean this manhwa is decent but by no means amazing. I don't understand why korean manhwas a lot of the time have such boring plot devices like Felix being so dumb to not realize he slept with Isaac before, that he's an omega, and that the son is his? Like how dumb can you be for being the "most powerful alpha" and one of the rich leaders of a gang(?). If the author is using this to keep it mysterious...its a poor choice bc the entire audience KNEW from the beginning that the son was his. The only semi mystery is why these people are chasing him but its not really all that compelling? It's pretty generic with Isaac having hidden some "docs" from the antagonist and now must retrieve them. Like you would think the author would by now delve into their pasts and what exactly Isaac AND Felix were doing 4 or however many years ago it was. Its just a lot of fucking and a lot of "I'm hiding my past" and "I'm trying to find out your past" for 30 chapters going NOWHERE. We didn't really gain any new info along the chapters so...

Sort of tired of manhwas gaining traction for shitty or at the most mediocre writing/story and pretty art. ahem* "Black Mirror" ( comparing to this story: again it's this stupid secret that has taken forever to find out, a bunch of sex, and the secret isn't THAT compelling nor are the characters that likeable) It's almost as if these authors are trying to pull a major twist in the story to shock viewers.

Yes great we now are moving forward slightly with how things have been revealed but seriously? The author is continuing her "special" next week? Don't get me wrong, the author can definitely do whatever she wants but am I the only one getting more frustrated as it seems to be her way of dragging the story further more? Like she could do the special AFTER the entire story has folded but instead decided to do it NOW when there's cliffhanger after cliffhanger. People already weren't happy when this story was dragging all this time and she wants to sprinkle in some reverse story special to distract us...sigh* She's got a tactic...that's for sure. One would think you would focus on your main story when its lacking a lot of substance rather than focus on a SIDE story.

Eve created a topic of Hadaka yori mo Oku Fukaku

Although this story wasn't as fleshed out as the others (not that the others were that fleshed out either), I preferred this couple WAY more in terms of dynamic and character personality. It just didn't feel like the author's usual semes who are super experienced, blonde, delinquent types. Her other works featured semes who were more nonchalant and unclear about their feelings while in this one, they're more clear for both characters but not very well conveyed to each other. However I thought at chapter 6, it initially said its "ongoing" but now its COMPLETED?!?!? Sort of disappointed that the author didn't extend the story to further build on their relationship, communication skills, and individual character growth.
