Man I came back to read the last few chapters because I missed it but didn't realize there was a 2019 update. It was very sweet and nostalgic. I don't know why some people are seemingly pissed at Kyou because he got mad at his own son. Let's be real, it isn't Sou-chan's fault BUT it is. She basically gave her entire life force to Sou-chan and only survived bc Kyou gave his energy to her but bc all the energy went to Sou-chan, there was not enough for her entire body. The way the Senka's life works is she gives up her life to give life to another and only because of such a miracle was she able to survive. Sou-chan is technically the reason Misao is impaired in the legs. Did he do it on purpose, of course not. Not to mention they even explain that he just directed the anger towards Sou bc he couldn't forgive himself and was mad at himself. And I actually liked that he got angry bc what Sou-chan said wasn't intentionally malevolent but those words really hold a lot of meaning even if he didn't know what they meant. He was essentially saying "No mom your impairment is annoying" and Kyou's like "who tf do you think caused this and do you know what you just said?!?!". Sou-chan and Kyou caused her to be like that. I think because of that incidence Sou understood why his mother is impaired and truly understood the love his father and mother shared and how much they loved him.
Got to say the author did an amazing job from the middle to the ending because Misao didn't get out of it unscathed and instead she lost feeling in her legs and is impaired which is a great consequence considering they told us that she would die.
Was expecting SOMETHING considering people's comments about how its sad and dark. I mean technically it was sad and dark because of suicide and rape but very poorly written. It seems the author was trying a Romeo and Juliet thing with the suicide but failed terribly at making even me, a super emotional person, feel no emotion at all for the characters. The characters might as well have been dolls because of how much personality they lacked. This was so dumb and pointless.
Stumbled upon this and read 9 chapters or so. It just seems so depressing? I skimmed the recent chapters and saw its basically more complicated with everyone cheating on everyone. Also I don't have time atm to read it but just wondering everybody's opinion after reading to the most recent chapters.
I mean this manhwa is decent but by no means amazing. I don't understand why korean manhwas a lot of the time have such boring plot devices like Felix being so dumb to not realize he slept with Isaac before, that he's an omega, and that the son is his? Like how dumb can you be for being the "most powerful alpha" and one of the rich leaders of a gang(?). If the author is using this to keep it mysterious...its a poor choice bc the entire audience KNEW from the beginning that the son was his. The only semi mystery is why these people are chasing him but its not really all that compelling? It's pretty generic with Isaac having hidden some "docs" from the antagonist and now must retrieve them. Like you would think the author would by now delve into their pasts and what exactly Isaac AND Felix were doing 4 or however many years ago it was. Its just a lot of fucking and a lot of "I'm hiding my past" and "I'm trying to find out your past" for 30 chapters going NOWHERE. We didn't really gain any new info along the chapters so...
Sort of tired of manhwas gaining traction for shitty or at the most mediocre writing/story and pretty art. ahem* "Black Mirror" ( comparing to this story: again it's this stupid secret that has taken forever to find out, a bunch of sex, and the secret isn't THAT compelling nor are the characters that likeable) It's almost as if these authors are trying to pull a major twist in the story to shock viewers.
Yes great we now are moving forward slightly with how things have been revealed but seriously? The author is continuing her "special" next week? Don't get me wrong, the author can definitely do whatever she wants but am I the only one getting more frustrated as it seems to be her way of dragging the story further more? Like she could do the special AFTER the entire story has folded but instead decided to do it NOW when there's cliffhanger after cliffhanger. People already weren't happy when this story was dragging all this time and she wants to sprinkle in some reverse story special to distract us...sigh* She's got a tactic...that's for sure. One would think you would focus on your main story when its lacking a lot of substance rather than focus on a SIDE story.
Although this story wasn't as fleshed out as the others (not that the others were that fleshed out either), I preferred this couple WAY more in terms of dynamic and character personality. It just didn't feel like the author's usual semes who are super experienced, blonde, delinquent types. Her other works featured semes who were more nonchalant and unclear about their feelings while in this one, they're more clear for both characters but not very well conveyed to each other. However I thought at chapter 6, it initially said its "ongoing" but now its COMPLETED?!?!? Sort of disappointed that the author didn't extend the story to further build on their relationship, communication skills, and individual character growth.
The watch went from the left hand to the right then none and then left then right....which is it? LOL. The puppy scared me (≧∀≦)
This has gone to shit; Like where tf are the main couple? the art is worse than before and if anybody is thinking about reading this, you should just watch the anime because that's way more concise and focuses on a few main couples. IDK what the author is doing but its like Shiro and Kunimasa or whoever the main couple is DIED.
So many people are insulting those who "complained" about the story but that is what a comment section is for.....for expressing opinions about the story regardless of having paid for it or not. Some saying "You knew from chapter one...". Oh how wrong this comment is. Nobody knows what will happen next in the story..,that's the whole point of reading it. Some people seem to not know how the real world works... negative comments or opinions are allowed to exist and be welcomed for further discussion. People can form negative opinions and to those who say they can't well...welcome to the real world. It is absolutely ridiculous that these people are telling others, they can't say anything bad about the story. Anybody can form an opinion....particularly a negative opinion... on any piece of work. Just because the author put in hard work, doesn't mean it automatically deserves praise. The end product actually has to be good objectively. Right now the story is going nowhere...and that is a fact. She looped it back around to the beginning where Seungho is raping Nakyum and almost every chapter is still sex/rape.
Or rather don't judge a book by its ratings. One of the worst manhwa that has perfected the art of fooling the audience into rating it highly. Actually author isn't that smart, more like too many underage readers who don't have the ability to deconstruct and reflect on multiple terrible aspects of this manhwa. Despite its high rating, the manhwa objectively is very very abhorrent. Started out with potential and decent art and then went super downhill from the middle to the end. From dragging the plot for multiple chapters to making characters deplorable to glossing over major issues....Very surprised that around this time, many comments praise the work when at the time it was finished, most readers realized it for what it was....complete utter garbage. A disgrace to be rated as highly as other actually good manhwas/manhuas.
To hazy,
Just because someone put a lot of effort into a work, doesnt mean they deserve any fucking praise. If that's how things worked, then what's the point of awards. I would want someone to tell me my creation is shitty if its shitty. You don't get a fucking participation award. Only disney does that stupid shit. Your lesson about "treat others how you want to be treated", I guess that means you want people to lie to this author's face and tell her her work is absolutely amazing when in reality OBJECTIVELY, her work was shit. If you don't know how a story should be structured and the important elements it needs to have to be a good story, then might as well not argue. Censor free speech is the lesson you're trying to teach people. This story was an absolute terrible story. Started off well and then dragged on a plotline about an antagonist who we didn't know much about while also having no progress happen for about 20+ chapters, showing fanservice of the three. Sigh.... your comment is the exact reason nobody will improve and learn that others have different opinions. How come your is valid but when its a "negative" opinion its not?
Thankfully this finally ended after so much turmoil. It started out with great potential and then almost hit rock bottom right in the middle. The author dragged out this conflict with Lu Xuan Ru for forever...for too long. Overall shitty but still managed to end it on a slightly better note than I've seen other authors in the same predicament do. After reading so many manhwas starting out well and going downhill midway, I know not to keep my hopes up anymore. Always reminds me that korean writers lack the talent to write. I mean look at kdramas. Looks like korean comics are exactly the same.
To the person ( persons) who insist on trying to guilt people into censorship: Shame on you.
Actually, this is the lesson of the day: No art ever is automatically worth of praise just because somebody did it. If that was the case, the museum would be filled with shitty paintings that took hours for some untalented person to do instead of masterpieces from geniuses who might as well have done it in minutes.
First of all, as you said, this is an illegal site and no comment here is meant directly to the author. Harassing people on their official account is for jerks but also only a jerk can think of shame people into shutting their opinions in a free zone like this.
Second of all a most important part. No artist ever is entitled to praise just because something was created. If people couldn't tell what is mediocre from what is good, there would be no point ever to value a masterpiece or give an award for talent.
A person can put all their passion and labor into something and there is a credit to it but guess what? It doesn't make it automatically worth of praise. If that was the case I would be selling my shitty watercolors in a museum. If that was the case, a shitty movie - what by the way also involve a lot of work -- would be winning an oscar.
This story was mediocre, the characters were mediocre and using such a shameful guilt-tactic to censor people opinion is not only wrong but really bad for art in general.
Imagine an world where no bad things could be sad about a product. Imagine that the only opinion on something should follow a script. Actually this kind of archaic mentality exists. This is no different that what China does with their 'only good things should be shown' and thus censor whatever they think is bad. That is the problem with your logic: a world where mediocre things can't be criticized and only good things are allowed to be said out loud.
This is wrong and dangerous.
Is anybody upset or disappointed by this? Cuz I am. I really like the CONCEPT of it but the author's poor story telling really ruined it. She literally left everything unanswered. At first the whole "coming from the past or another timeline" was really what captured my attention. She gave us a bit of Jun's background but later dropped all of that. She proposed that Myung was the Myung that was Jun's past but that was unanswered as well. She introduced two antagonists and that was ALSO dropped and unanswered. Besides the cuteness, there was nothing worth value here. She nothing with ALL of the elements/aspects/information she provided. It's literally a unended manhwa like it was discontinued. So so disappointed when it had soo much potential. NO plot whatsoever, which makes me question why it's a manwha anyway.
What is with these toxic ass comments about how everyone deserves love and Chowon deserves to be forgiven for all his sins bc he APOLOGIZED. People keep feeling bad for him just because he has some mental issues and he didn't have a great family life or marriage life but multiple people in life have mental issues and DON'T idk rape others, hurt them, threaten them and etc. Granted everybody's going to be different. But people judging WAY too early that he has changed based on only that fact that he APOLOGIZED. It's a step but apologizing doesn't take away what you did and it doesn't mean you earned anybody's forgiveness. He still has so many steps to take to have ACTUAL character development. He apologized to ONE person who prob deserved an even better apology and everybody hops on his dick and kisses his ass as if you people even care to form your opinion on his character but really you all just think he's pretty and he did the bare minimum and they're like OMG you're an angel.....It really shows how messed up people are to think just bc he has a mental illness, he is allowed to make all these mistakes and how such small effort was praised to the gods even tho what he did was so much worse that it requires more than just an apology.
By some people's logic, this means a serial rapist or serial killer deserves love bc they never got some love in their childhood. OR Serial killer kills 20 people and says "Sorry" deserves to be forgiven bc he was just mislead and didn't mean to kill them. He DESERVES to be forgiven and find love in this world. Sure Chowon didn't do something as evil as killing or murdering but I'd say pretty up there. I'd argue he would get away with more due to his status and his family's money. Even if the first case was an "accident" where the omega broke his own leg, Chowon INTENDED to scare and threaten him. He paid him some money and went "all is well" is FUCKED UP. Imagine someone said "Oh I'm sorry for breaking your leg, I didn't mean to! I only meant to scare the shit out of you so you would run away and if you get hurt, its not bc I put you in that situation or anything". There is NO QUESTION that he attempted to have Heesoo raped whether he said it or not bc he commanded them to "test" and see how he could captivate Dojun. From IDK context clues, you would know he meant to rape him (saw a comment about how he didn't explicitly say it so we "don't know" if he was going to rape Heesoo)
NOT SAYING he doesn't deserve second chances but a second chance is different from completely forgiving and forgetting about what he did. Also this is aimed more towards people commenting about how he DESERVES love or forgiveness or its not his fault. Past experiences can explain his actions now but that doesn't justify or lessen the weight of his actions. A lot of ppl are saying "well he has mental illnesses" is already absolving him of responsibility by saying "Oh he has this condition so he can't be held responsible or he is 'less responsible' or he didn't really mean it". Clearly from that chapter where his own inner self ASKS him "you really didn't mean it? I'm sure you wanted to crush and kill every one of them" and he panicked bc he knew deep down inside, a part of him WANTED that and even he's afraid of his own dark thoughts. Even if it is sad or you pity him, remember these are the consequences for him. He doesnt DESERVE anything, everything needs to be EARNED.
This manhua was overall a pretty good one, with more realistic approaches to romance, very nice art, and decent development of main characters and plotline. Realistic approaches and not an overly dramatic approach was this manhua's advantage.
However, I would not classify this as a masterpiece because of a few things.
1. Pacing
For one, the pacing is meh with the author focusing entirely too much on irrelevant scenes and very little dialogue in one chapter. Sure not bad when one is reading through after it is finished but while it was pushed out weekly, the bad pacing was evident. Some or rather a lot of chapters went from point A to point A. For example, it would start with the main character planning to talk to somebody, meeting them, saying a few words and then boom cliffhanger when nothing has happened... Many times she would end the chapter with no substance and even end it as a cliffhanger when it didn't classify as a cliffhanger.
2. Realistic?
People tend to really overhype a piece of work if it slightly deviates from usual tropes and stereotypes. The other thing was there were quite a few stereotypical plotlines but its not always a bad thing. It's just I see so many praise the manhua for being realistic without being cliche when there were many cliche and stereotypical aspects. For example, "meeting each other as childhood friends", "don't want to be with you bc you'll be discriminated against", "meeting you when I'm older and then we work out as a couple (Red head and uncle)", etc.
3. Side characters
One major flaw were the side characters as the author did not seem to know what to do with them and inserted or developed them with poor timing. Side characters were pretty useless except for giving audiences a bit of fresh air from the main couple. She did not bring them in earlier in the story and instead inserted them right when the main couple had major issues which was bad timing. Most people cared about the characters bc they were cute or had relatable struggles but in general, they wouldn't and shouldn't evoke much emotion from the audience due to lack of development and screen time. i.e. "I don't know much if anything about this side character and she expects us to care for them greatly", which is a flaw. One major hint of the not so decent side characters were the fact that most readers didn't even remember their names and only referred to them by their hair color.
4. Lack of development for main characters and only scraping the surface of complex issues
Main characters STILL did not get enough development in terms of their dynamic with each other AFTER they got together and that is also due to the fact that author chose to use that time to allocate for the side characters. There was slight emphasis on Huan's sexual inexperience but she didn't or couldn't delve into that and the lack of approval from Yuyang's parents which were glossed over, etc. The misunderstanding in their relationship was just Huan forgetting Yuyang's bd and hiding the fact that he was sick which was a miscommunication problem that could have been developed more and used to show their dynamic as a couple. Instead she just chalked it up to them having an almost perfect relationship without them explicitly communicating and whatnot.
Despite the flaws, I still enjoyed the manhua and thought it was decent. I would've liked her to still focus more on the couple and develop their relationship more but she really didn't do that, which is probably why she dragged the misunderstanding and unrequited love part so long as after they got together, not much happened. She didn't dive into the topics deeply and only scraped the surface. Topics about acceptance, relationship struggles, etc. and sort of glossed over it quite quickly with just showing family members or friends accepting it easily. Still a manhua I would prob re-read.
Usually, I'm the type to be very immersed and attached to my characters but damn....this was atrocious. Alpha had not redeeming qualities and I was asking myself, are we supposed to like the alpha who is our main character? He's disgusting, deplorable, --I have almost no words. He's a dick. Questionable from the very start, this seme has committed every crime under the sun.... rape, rape of a minor, verbal, physical, sexual abuse. He's just a terrible human being and not surprised our omega falls for him and stays with him at the end. My question to the author is who TF is your editor?!?! DID THEY TELL YOU IT WAS SHIT? Forget the editor, the author is so far up his/her own ass, that they think this shit was anywhere near good. I sound angry but I really am not. Just stating facts here.... I did not find myself too upset because how could I be when there was no hope to begin with. I just felt empty.
Based on previous manhwas with worst or terrible plots as they go along, I'm surprised people have such a reaction to this one. Usually people still praise works while they drag on the plot and get repetitive. However, I agree, its getting repetitive and dragging a lot. We GET IT. Jesus, he's mad and upset with Nakyum, rightfully so but still go with another plot author. We're at chapter 64 and we still haven't had much change in the characters...I'm pretty sure its going to be a cliche plotline so why is she even dragging this? Like we KNOW he's going to end up with Seungho so just get to the point or at least move the plot.
