And I'm so glad Jungmin never reciprocated his feelings. The author said he was "lacking as an adult," but he's much more mature than the vast majority of teachers in BL, especially ones being crushed on.
The main character is assaulted multiple times by the "love interest," tells him no very clearly, and then his friend ignores and gaslights him. I couldn't finish reading it because I've read so many like this and I'm frankly sick of it. Usually they at least pretend the MC is into the assault, but this one is going the extra mile by victim blaming the MC.
I had to read because I just started the anime and was thinking maybe it’s better in the manga 2 chapters in and THERE ARE NO REDEEMING QUALITIES if anything the anime is more tolerable T-T
Sorry, but Aki gets on my nerves with how down on himself he is. It's hurtful to have the person who loves you give you praise and to just shoot it down. I know being an artist is emotionally hard, but there's a limit to how much you can insist that you're not worthy of praise.
he got constant rejects in his area of work and spent years on a downhill slope? do you think cause his longterm friend shows back up in his life and cheers him on it'd be that easy to recover? sure, it's definitely hurtful to feel like you're talking to a wall when you try to give confidence to an individual, but he was going through a rough ass situation. his stubbornness and feelings of helplessness are valid and not easy to get under wraps. it takes time and patience, and if you don't have that patience in you with a depressed person then you are free to take a step back to prioritize yourself and your health. but do not by any means demean them.
So damn true. Ikr, it's realistic reaction. We don't easily give in some ppl praise. Especially when he just failed his series. And i think he nerveous and afraid it will failed again since it was painful for him. Cuz if he draw again he will have a "hope" again.

It's a pet peeve from growing up surrounded by insecure teens, especially artists on social media who got flooded with complements but constantly posted about how sad and insecure they were. I wasn't any better at that age, but I don't have room in my life for that energy any more.
