I marinated this for damn long despite me loving the first season.
... that was until the last chap of 2nd season. Oh how I hate it all. I feel like eui joon didnt deserve to be left like that, for all reason exist. He's just too pire, innocent, lovable, selfless, and understanding. He could have just made reasons to justify ahjussi's actions if only they talked about it.
But yeah, i also think it's nice for them to sort out their feelings, letting it more deep rooted in their hearts.

It was so sad.... gitae's life is tragic as he was used by others but i cried when i see that chapter of jihoon's life. It must be so.... lonely. Quiet. You'll feel like you wont live anymore because whats the point anyway.
But huhu, shout out to jihoon for ensuring those lonely night alone!
I'm a softie when it comes to child abandonment but i cant say i hate the mother for doing that.
As we read gitae and jihoons' life together, i thought, "oh... the mother must have felt lonely without her husband."
Sure she has jihoon but jihoon is a child, a human being she couldn't share any burden with and passionate night. She was lonely as she had a life outside before while jihoon had not (so he could endure it stronger than her mom cause he knew nothing about the joy of outside world).
I cried a little. I imagined myself as jihoon and dont think i could survive for 9 years. No one to talk to. No sound. No hobbies. Nothing.
This is gooooddd
I cant understand how shima sees mitsumi.... like what does he feel about here? Does he really like her or just feel safe around her?
he’s starting to like her but is focusing on getting better himself so he can feel confident to stand by her and her kindness. this was all addressed in a chapter where he asked mitsumi to wait for him
in fact I think he already DOES like her
Yeah, that much I get it.
But WHY does he let her go or not reacted to her or anything when they dated? Like, why, after the broke up?
he was mentally unstable in the past, and wasn’t really doing anything to change himself. it’s only now that he’s realizing more about himself and actively trying to change himself does he realize the extent of his feelings
Oh I see... thank you!
Also, don’t forget how shima views friendship as being a higher priority than love. So when they broke up, they returned to being friends, and since friends are higher priority than a lover, he didn’t feel as heartbroken about that. However, now he’s feeling conflicted since he’s realizing he does want to be something more than friends with Mitsumi, but that clashes with what he thought his priorities were. And that’s also why it took him so long to figure out that the feelings he had for mitsumi wasn’t friendship but love. Since the highest form of love he knew was friendship.
I really like how the manga is taking is time and showing how not being there mentally and the normal immaturity of people at that age can make you be confused about your feelings, Shima likes Mitsumi, isn't a shojo manga love, he liked her as a person first, and he is slowly learning the differences between liking someone as a friend, respect them as people, and eventually, with the right push, maybe something else in the future.
I also did not get parts of Shima's actions so thank you everyone for explaining. You guys are so nice
