Idk, just ask your family what they feel on different topics, like a "get to know you" kind of thing. You can ask about LGBTQ later. Start off simple. (I have an example on the next paragraph). And if they ask what LGBTQ is, just say "it's a community of people who identify as all sorts of things, like gay or transgender". If they ask how you know ......
