Tbh I'm split, I understand that she's new and that she was originally just a commoner so that's why she tries to keep/make peace because being kind is the only way she thinks she can survive society, but she still does need to grow a back bone.
Not only does her being nice fuck her over, (glasses dude and the ladies treating her like a doormat) her being nice won't work in her favor because she's just gonna be treated the same way or even get treated worse because the people around her will take her for granted.
That and she's kinda dumb for forgetting that Ophelia's family is there to support her and back her up.

I dont remember the chapters that much (because of the gap between the uploads) but im pretty sure on an earlier chapter it was shown (or implied?? Sorry wonky memory) that her mom compares her to him. I think the premise would be so interesting if the manhwa focused on her growth and trying to dismantle mom's toxic behavior towards her daughter instead

That’s so interesting! Makes sense how someone with the story of Cinderella will have the grandmas mindset, she hasn’t gone through difficulties in a while and it all worked out for her.

One of my favorite scenes here is when the grandma asks her maids what they would do in Mildred’s situation- them agree with the queen but then telling her they’d rather kill themselves was so shocking and powerful! Put things into perspective ヾ(☆▽☆)
Riighht? It was such an interesting scene, esp when they first met. Cos neither of them were wrong, circumstances and mindset set them apart and they have to do what they need to do. It was also such a growth step for the queen when she was put in her place when she insist in her ways, only to be proven wrong. Also that was my fave scene too, when she realize that how shortsighted and sheltered she was with her judgement and was put in her place. Mil handled that situation so maturely ngl i bet i would snub the queen if she apologizes

I find Mildred to so emotionally mature and loving mother, that at times I forget she was reincarnated into the novel.
We don’t get many scenes explaining how her previous lifes experience was used in this story, but her resourcefulness, class, realistic lenses while also having a down to earth and quick understanding of the world and the situation she’s in.
One of the best written webtoon/manhwa/comic characters I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading!
Facts! It would be so much more interesting tho if we get a peak into her prev life. Cos if you think about it, mil isnt even a mom in the prev life; she was single and childless and didnt even want kids. But she handled motherhood so well that even we want to be her child. But like typical isekaid manhwas it gets shadowed and forgotten. But its fine cos Mil is such a mother is mothering moment that we dont need it.

I normally hate backstory arcs and tend to skip them, I just really like the story being in chronological order and us being there for the ride with the main character, but for this story-
