Cheating is cool, nothing wrong with cheating. You are a fully grown adult. Why even make the choice to let yourself become so financially and socially dependent on an unrelated peer that them breaking off your arrangement or adding someone else to the arrangement threatens your well being?

Things got so bad only because the uke forced himself into a corner by being so submissive, by giving up his life, his career, his social network, his family and his independence just to keep a mere lover happy. The seme is a horrendous bitch that deserves the worst hell, not for cheating, that's not a problem, but for being an entitled, unrepentant abuser. You can despise him for that. But he is the villain so you are supposed to despise him anyway. No big deal. Buut, the story wants you to sympathize with the MC, to see the world from his eyes. That's impossible for me. All I want to do is facepalm myself during 90% of his problem. Like, buddy, bro, brother, how the fuck were you so stupid to get yourself in such a deep mess. When you ditched your folks, threw away your career, practically gave up your company to lover boy and reduced yourself to becoming his unpaid vassal, how did you miss the big shiny red flags each time. Idiot just treated each of them like a red carpet, instead, and sashayed himself right into Mariana Trench.

(Note: I am leaving the story midway. Although I expect the backstory to change much over the rest of the story, but on the rare
chance that there's some big reveal that contradicts my understanding of things, know that, it has not been accounted for in this comment. I just can't bring myself to feel for the MC over any of his issues expect for his illness and the physical assault that he suffers. I just feel so jaded and skeptical about any angst that he goes through that is not related to his illness. I don't hate the character but I just feel anger and disappointment towards him. He reminds me of so many idiots just like him, that I know IRL, some that I even personally care for to some degree or another. )

The only correct thing that the seme says throughout the story so far is that the MC is acting like a "woman". He is right. The whole problem only exists because he acts like a "woman". (I am not taking about females. I am taking about the "woman", the archetype of a stockholm syndrome victim and an eternally infantilized individual. )

The reason why centuries of women who lived as a "woman" are heartwrenchingly sympathetic people, but this guy is not, is because they were coerced but he
chose to jump into the fire. To give an analogy, those women were pushed off a plane without a parachute but this guy chose to jump without one and leave his fate to luck, even when he had the best parachutes lined up for him and people were begging him to take one. The prior were pushed into situation where a deplorable society deprived them of their family, their inheritance, their financial independence, their independent social support network, their career, their children, their legacy, their very identity and were subjugated to the whims of other people, forced to become second class citizen sacrificing their lives for the interests of patriarchy. This latter however had no such pressures. He had all the privileges that those women didn't. He is a man and he was raised as a man. Regardless of the state of human rights in his world, unless specified otherwise, him being a man should tell you that he got all the familial and social guarantees that every human being deserves. He even lost his family only
because he was the one left them. By his own admission, he ditched his family to stay with lover boy. His parents, I guess, must have only disapproved of his dating choices. At least, it's looking unlikely that they abandoned him for being gay. Because there's a scene where he is envious of another patient who has their parent right by their side as they receive a leukemia diagnosis. He says there that if only his parents were still alive, if he hadn't been such a bad son, they, too, would have been right by his side, supporting him, even if everyone else left. Everytime he regrets leaving his parents, he always blames his choice to leave, not his constitution. So, I am assuming that he was luckier than some IRL gay people and plenty of BL gay characters, who have to suffer that horribly traumatic experience.

There is no excuse for putting himself in the dangerous circumstances that he does. Keep in mind that I'm not blaming him for the abuse that he suffers. That is entirely on the attacker. But, I am blaming him for knowingly letting himself become so desperate that he is forced to continue to stay with his abuser. The abuser deserves jail time. This guy deserves a serious intervention. If he still had family, he deserved to have been dragged back home and grounded for being such an idiot. Also, somebody call the seme's other partner's family and friends. That guy is on the same disastrous track as the MC. He seriously needs a stern talking to and therapy to get him thinking straight.

Our MC is just a pick me. He is so drugged up on the romance nonsense that he cuts off the very branch he was sitting on, just for the thrill of it, betting it all on the off chance that a geyser will burst out of the ground below him and cushion his fall. It was all fun and excitement during the fall but once he impacts the ground, and inevitably no geyser has shown up, well, its too late to regret it.

Learn from his mistakes. Even if you are co-living with someone that you are romantically involved with, everything, except for sexual arrangement bit, should be no different than if you were living with a roommate that you wouldn't be romantically involved with. Keep your personal lives and personal finances independent, so you can get out whenever you want.

Just because some people are incapable of distinguishing reality from fiction doesn't mean we need to censor fiction or shove it into a corner where it's not getting any attention.
That's not how life works and not what will help the problems at hand.

Also, you should stop accusing people of accepting or liking actual crimes just because you yourself cannot differentiate what reading fictional works and being in reality is like. That's beyond idiotic and honestly quite vile to accuse others of.
That's like saying an author is a serial killer irl because his novels are about a criminal. It's room-temperature iQ to say nonsense like this.

Lot's of people don't like the manga, that's okay, but to want it gone, and especially to judge people for liking it is too far. The dubcon and assault is only a fraction of the story and people ain't out here cheering for it

And I'm really tired of people saying comics are hyped BECAUSE there is rape in them. I have not once seen that unless we're talking troll or ragebait comments.
