This story makes me feel so much... I can’t.
Just seeing a snippet of her past made me cry
Just knowing what she went through in both her past lives is just heart wrenching and her trying to remember them and seeing those flashbacks hurts me so much...
she was always a sweetheart and was put through so much pain. I’d love to see more about her first life but I don’t know if my heart can handle it. This story has made me cry, feels pangs of the heart, joy, laugh, and feel a glimmer of sprouting love and romance.
I just can’t... this is a masterpiece.

Literally reread the whole story today, cause why not lol. The updates are too slow for me and I didn’t feel like I knew the story as well as I would have liked, anyway, on my second read through I realized a couple of pointers about the plot that were shown but left as footnotes to be used later on and I just couldn’t let them slide... but I’m also so hyped about the reread that I just need to write my thoughts down!
Sorry I’m rambling...
I actually forgot about a lot more than I realized and if you’re still with me perhaps you have too and/or just want to see where I’m getting at haha.
So, it’s initially been established that our MC is reincarnated from our world and into the world of the novel... however, later on, some flashbacks and by Lucas’ words/statements suggest otherwise.
That in fact, she has been reborn... saying that she’s come “back” from before. Meaning she was always Athy. She was before, as illustrated and described in the novel, and she is now again Athy.
But here’s the thing that stuck, as something I had missed before, as it was minuscule at the time. Lucas said “turn back time.” Which makes me wonder about a few things... that in fact, she wasn’t necessarily reincarnated or reborn but somehow time went back!
IMPLYING - as the first thing that popped into my head - that WHAT IF her “memories” or “recollections” of her “previous” life on our planet earth was in fact a dream or simply limbo.
Maybe I’m thinking about this too much but I’m having to much fun with this to stop - what if the “novel” was a coping mechanism she produced in her state of limbo.
Perhaps she was reborn as an orphan girl but maybe that was because as the 1st Athy she already felt like an orphan so it was projected in the reality of her dream... and because she couldn’t forget her life prior it projected itself as a novel in the perspective of the girl she wished she could take the place of. Just a thought.
Another thing that was a huge chunk of information that I just looked over was when they talk about what a magician overall IS. Their actual mental state, or should I just say plainly, their heart-istic state. To become a true magician, removing ones emotions is crucial as those who gain more power would use it on whims of emotion rather than logic and reason...
which explains Lucas’ reluctance to showing emotions of love and affection. Early in the webtoon, it talked about the ice heart of wizards and magicians... which made me immediately think of Lucas, Lucas’ white haired friend, and Claude. It’s not that they don’t have emotions, it’s that they don’t want to form any attachments.
I’m guessing by Lucas’ immeasurable age and his white-haired friend - that at some point in the peak of power - you become immortal to some extent. Meaning that any attachments formed based on love would later on be agonizing after those connections are broken by death. Thus, the ice heart.
Now Claudes cause is a little different but I feel is similar and shouldn’t be glossed over. Based on the recent flashbacks we know that he’s never experienced the love of parents (or mothers love)... and seeing that he killed (? Tried to at least haha...) his brother that some form of betrayal or falling out occurred. He’s already guarded his heart well and as a magician shown to be quite gifted and powerful. So, the ice heart. However, what 1st melted it was Arby’s mother, which as we can see by Claudes reaction to it in the flashbacks, it took him a great deal to open his heart... which explains again his hurt and feelings of betrayal when she chooses the child’s life over her own (somehow she knew she was gonna die - that’s another footnote). Thus, explains why Claudes immediate reaction is to loath the source of his pain - the woman who made him feel and the child the reason for his suffering in the first place.

As I was saying.
The next HUGE yet overlooked and misdirected is the huge factor of Dark/Black Magic looming over the entire series. Remember that when Lucas first sees Athy, he notices that she actually has a curse on her - mention or it is vaguely shown throw flashbacks later on - that all her misfortunes are caused by this. Some being her disfunctional magic within her body, which causes her to bleed on multiple occasions.
This is to say, that in Athy’s first life (of the novel) she was also suffering from such a thing but died too early to notice magic within her... but the curse was still there.
To me, I felt a sudden realization of connecting the dots! Claude used black magic in order to somehow save his lovers life but it was futile and is perhaps the reason for her death... and why Athy is cursed. She was cursed from birth. Of course these are my speculations, idk what really happens... however, I think that something is there... it would explain things - why every misfortune befell Athy - why Claude saving her life and transferring his magic to stabilize her would cause some kind of chain reaction to the lingering black magic within himself (the probable cause of Athy’s misfortunes) - and why Lucas specifically says “turning back time.”
As Athy grows stronger in her magic (less and less cursed), Claude would get worse as the lingering black magic is being reversed and collected back into him (idk haha does this even make sense???).
However there‘a Claudes older brother (forgot his long a** name lol just gonna call him “Black Bro”) who keeps doing things with magic... I think that the “turning back time” was his doing - using the princess as bait for Claude - because when that ribbon sash broke black magic mixed in with Athy and caused that mana explosion.
Anyway, from the recent released chapters it seems like Black Bro has a history with black magic and been influenced by something/someone dark an ominous, which will all be revealed eventually, I’m sure.
That’s all the major stuff for me atm
There’s some more little tidbits that I noticed which I hadn’t really paid much attention to before that I think, if you don’t want to reread, then I’ll just point them out.

Claudes Brother and ex-fiancé both use/used black magic... but so far I don’t see much curses on them. The brother should be dead but he’s not which is hard for me to deal with cause why isn’t he suffering more than Claude for every time he uses it?!?! (Which I’m guessing is a lot of times! Where’s his backlash!) (╬￣皿￣)凸 The woman died from childbirth but used black magic which means Jeanette is cursed, we know this, but why is it making Claude get the short end of the stick and not HERSELF?!??!? She’s the ones who’s cursed sooooo WHAT THE HELL?!???
Claudes Brother avoids any and all contact with Athy because of her protection barrier... it always reacts in any contact, implying that he’s constantly wanting to harm or kill her in some way. Good to remember.
Mr. White generally seems to think that Jeanette is Claudes blood daughter... because from his reaction to Claudes Broz statement of “thanks for taking car of my daughter,” he was genuinely bewildered (at first at least)... This means that before, he was really just trying to use such connections to get his family within the Royal Family. However, now that he knows... he still is emphasizing her to continue to get in Claudes favor even though he knows who the real father is... soooo wth?? What’s your motive now Mr. White??
Cause he definitely feels threatened by Claudes older Brother, who we know is waiting for his mana to build in order to strike at Claude in anyway he can (any Athy to boot)... so now Mr.White is an accomplice... but wth is he trying to do now??? ┑(￣Д ￣)┍
I’m confused by his motive... he’s lost his trump card. He wanted to be a part of the royal family but I don’t his intentions dared to go for mutiny or revolution... which it will become that way and if Claudes Bro actually dies this time he will be viewed as being expendable, but it looks like it’s inevitably coming to that... and he’s choosing a side by harboring Claudes Bro.
It seems that Jeanette and everyone, other than Athy and Lucas, don’t know that she’s cursed. However, I think that Claudes Bro might know that’s why he’s been rather quiet about sending her over so often... I believe he knows that her effect on Claude is poison to him. Idk the nature of the curse but I believe he knows of it.
