Minwook's was because he didn't want Geumhwa to leave him, while Seungjae's was because he knew they couldn't be together so maybe there's also bitterness in his anger). I don't mean to defend Seungjae, what he did was wrong and I actually agree with your last sentence, I just want to present another perspective to Geumhwa's thought.
