I have been a reader here for years, but created my account quite recently. Just like you all I am sad, worried and stressed out because of all the drama going on right know. But while this drama is going on I am really shocked because of something else. The attitude of some people here.
Never forget, we read here illegaly. And even though it sucks that some great reads is being removed on the request of the authors, it does not give people the right to badmouth them, their lifestyle or the reason why they want their work removed from here in the first place.
I have never used an official site before. I have mostly used this site. But every day, I am prepared that something that I read or want to read might disappear. That is something I have to be ready for, as an illegal reader. I understand the authors. If I were one of them, I would most definitely react the same way.
You forget another thing, lots of users here seem to immensely dislike people who purchase the chapters legally, & sometimes call them hypocrite for also reading here (well, duh, there are also unlicensed series you can only read in sites like this) or rats, as if all of them are the ones who ratted out this site in the first place. I wholeheartedly agree with you, the attitude is the problem. Just because one is broke doesn't give the them the rights to badmouth the author or the legal readers. But wishing for a change is probably just wasting our breath, as many of the readers here are juveniles, who lack the understanding about how the industry works. We need both the authors & the legal readers to support the industry, otherwise there'll be no product to read. So I hope people stop attacking them. It's more than just about decorum.
Why is everyone acting like the site definitely will go down? Doesn’t this happen like, three times a year? I get nervous. People are talking about legal actions and stuff, but can they really sue an site which no one knows operates and which is (probably) based in another country?
It's never possible a legal never involve with illegal if they want to earn unlimitedly they have to take hands with illegal remember that while author is suffering and all this commotion beeen created not even lez tweeter once. Some old author who are around 40+ plus in industry don't bother taking out their comics of these type of sites cuz they know what the reason is.
So I basically lost a manga (or maybe it was a webtoon?) which I was reading. What can I say? Such a stupid mistake. The site just died down a minute and restarted itself. Anyhow, I really can not find it and here I am getting all frustrated. So I was hoping for some help!
It is a story about a guy who was a college student, and who picked a contact adress from a flyer in a bathroom. The flyer was about a "queer club" which the most popular guy at the whole school had created (I think). They went to a trip with their classmates and a lot of other stuff happened, including a crossdressing contest where the the main character had to participate and accidentally pointed at the crowd with a beer bottle. Reading my explanation it seems a bit absurd but I am thankful for all help!
Please, could people just stop mentioning Mangago on social media. I really can't believe how stupid people can be.
I don't believe today's problem was because of this, but everytime there is a server problem and the site has problems (which all sites have) people go crazy and write out their frustrations on social media.
Just stop please, and we can all keep Mangago as safe as possible.
