*SPOILERS FOR THE END*
EDIT: Bruh after reading the last chapter multiple times I think I am in love with Kister. This manhwa is beautiful.
This BL is definitely has a better storyline than most. It's rare to see the scope of an author's plans from the very beginning. This fated pair truly had a tragic story, but in the end, meet at more stable points of their lives. At first, I was confused about why they had so much chemistry together. Why did Kister care so much about Jonathan? But, the author truly explained it so well. Usually, when things are revealed towards the end, it comes off as cliche and insincere; however, the author really did so well ;-;. This manhwa was worth the read. Not my favorite of all time, but definitely worth the hype.
The relationship Jonathan has with Robert isn't explained in the end. Robert was truly in love with Jonathan; however, the author purposefully molded it to where the reader doubts his intentions. I find it weird that the author gave Robert a small backstory that seemed like it would make Robert into a major character. It's just kinda weird. Nothing is explained. Why were Kister and Cicero so suspicious of Jonathan? Why is Robert so obsessed with perfection like the murderers? Why is someone so amazing like Robert in love with Jonathan? Robert is a character you cannot hate and can only love. These questions were never answered so it leaves a bad taste in the mouth.
Another thing that was never explained was did Cicero care about Jerome? Why was he worried about Jerome being in the cold? Was Jerome his key to sanity? I had hoped that this would be resolved, but the author also cast Jerome's story aside. So again, bad taste in the mouth. This is all for critiques.
The manhwa did a really good job with suspense! I was always wondering who the true murderer was every single second. Everyone was suspicious but also not. I think this manhwa really helped me see murder mysteries in a more positive light.
I wish there was more epilogue with the characters. Half of me wants Jonathan to pick Robert (because he treated Jonathan so well and confided his dark side with him), but the other half of me roots for Kister (because he sacrificed everything for the one who rooted for him first).
What an amazing story!

I was tempted to drop this at first; however, the latter half of season 1 and the entirety of season 2 were so good. I think Jungsoo really matured over the course of the story. He began as a follower who wasn't able to make his own decisions and acted on impulse (chased after girls, began studying because of his parent's wishes, etc.), then he started to be able to rationalize with himself on what he really wants in life. He wasn't likeable at first, but he became a fine character in the end. Minhyul was truly a tragic character. He had everything taken away from him in the beginning and was still left with nothing in the end. He was just unable to see things for how they really were and only saw things with his insecurities. Honestly, I wanted him to end up with Jungsoo until the very end, but I understand Jungsoo's points and he objectively made the best decision. Seriously, I would totally date Minhyul (yandere men hmu). Hyun was just very devoted. His feelings of guilt became love and he was so conflicted on them. I think he was written well. He loved Jungsoo so much that he didn't want to pressure him. There are a lot of tropes where the best friend falls in love with his friend and doesn't confess because he "doesn't want things to change", but this was done perfectly. His greed for Jungsoo didn't overcome his wishes for Jungsoo to be happy. Until the end, he always looked at things from Jungsoo's perspective and wanted to make him comfortable. He was truly the one who loved Jungsoo the most.
The things that I was a little dissatisfied with were that Minhyul didn't get as much screentime in season 2. I think the author was trying to push Hyul into the spotlight to get people to root for him but totally left Minhyul in the dust. In situations where he would normally stand up for Jungsoo, he was entirely quite and it seemed like he wasn't even there. His personality changed a lot too and his yandere went up crazy amounts that didn't make sense at all. Basically, in season 2, he became a plot device and not a love interest. On the flipside, Hyun didn't get much screentime as a love interest in the first season. I think if the author made it to where both of the love interests had equal opportunity to shine and appeal to Jungsoo, Jungsoo would have had a much harder time deciding who to pick.
Overall this manhwa is underrated. This was the most in-depth review I have given so far actually hehe. The supporting cast was good (which is rare), and the relationships are complex and sincere. The author is really amazing, and I hope they release other works soon.
