i like how the rape is a festering open wound between them, not something that was excused like in other mangas. I like how it stays there, irredeemable and beyond a point of return.
In a realistic situation, you'd have nothing more to do w a rapist but the mafia setting justifies this. Still not sure if I actually like Nakwon and Mokwha but just? for once the asshole is shown to regret and rot and i love that
I feel like it’d make more sense if nakwon as a cop punches mokwha instead of raping him bc it doesn’t make sense for “cops” to rape the people they need answer for their questions. Like cops raping criminals does happen but like it’s rare compare to cops beating the criminals.
This story feels awkward bc it’s like the author realize the rape was a bad thing to put in the story so she decided to give nakwon a 180 degree personality change and made him talk about how fuck up he was to mokwa (which made me think the author was ranting to herself how absurd the rape shit was).
how did dan very conveniently understand the only phrase "one of my own" that's not even a common phrase... man's just trying to take a basic action as jaekyung being possessive for him
In the Korean version, Jaekyung says “내 사람이야” which is more like “one of my people”. Tbh I think in America, most people would say a member of their team is “one of my guys” or even “one of the crew”. I think the English translators just wanted to emphasize the possessiveness??
this makes sense now, dan slightly blushing had me thinking he might be delusional about his emotions but perhaps it's more of him idolising (though can't say since it ends on a cliff hanger xd )
