My memory is a bit fuzzy (someone correct me if I’m wrong) but in order to protect Mo (from She Li?) He Tian ended up making a deal with his big bro He Cheng.
As a result he had to fulfill his part of the deal which probably involved working with his family and being apart from Mo for some time.
So because he was away for so long (and he probably didn’t or couldn’t tell Mo why he would be leaving) Mo was sad and angry at He Tian and put all the memories of him in a box.
This part takes place when they’re adults and reunited years later.
yeah and it was kinda implied that Tian wasn't in touch with Mo during the time he was away as well. I'm guessing it has something to do with his dad. So Mo was just waiting and waiting without knowing when or if Tian would be back.
